Mythical City Games is a small indie studio based out of Vancouver, Canada. We love everything about creating games and want to share the process with you. We've released PC, VR and mobile games but have always taken a typical closed door approach, working in secret until the game is ready to show.

Over the years many of our players and fans have expressed interest in joining the journey and supporting us beyond just buying the games. So here we are, with the MCG Expeditions Guild where you can join the game development process! Think of it as Early Early Access.

Neon Exile (VR)

The Collapse (PC/Console)

Embrace the role of a fearless rescue pilot, navigating post-apocalyptic landscapes to find survivors and transport vital cargo in "The Collapse."

Suez (PC/Console/Web)

Final Hunt (VR)

Final Hunt catapults you into a harrowing, post-apocalyptic wasteland where precision and fear collide, challenging you to make every shot count in your pursuit of the elusive demonic creature in an immersive, pulse-pounding VR experience.

Important:

These are experimental projects and these prototypes are subject to change at any time. MCG may choose to cancel a prototype or refocus efforts onto a different game. Although we will endeavour to listen to all feedback it's not possible to integrate all suggestions or changes into a game, our team will make the final decisions on the direction the games take.

Which prototypes will get full releases?

Not all of our exciting prototypes will turn into full-fledged games. See, we're like treasure hunters, sifting through possibilities and focusing our resources on the gems with the most potential. How do we spot these gems? Well, it's those prototypes that have the most traction, the ones most played and talked about.

Oh, and to keep things interesting, we also have a Trello board where you can track the progress of our various prototypes. It’s like a backstage pass to game development at Mythical City Games.

What happens if a prototype is canceled?

It's likely some prototypes will be shelved. Don't worry though, we'll always keep you in the loop before any such decision. Plus, any prototype you've downloaded? It's yours to keep, no matter what.

Now, for multiplayer games or ones needing paid resources, we may have to shut those down due to costs. We'll do our best to keep your favorite prototypes alive and kicking, but can't make promises. Just remember, your valuable contributions will always fuel the creation of new prototypes.

How much influence do I actually have on game development?

You get a front-row seat to game development! You'll get your hands on games in their earliest stages and we're all ears for your feedback. And if you're an Adventurer tier or higher, you'll also vote on features and join exclusive surveys. We'll chat on Discord too!

Your votes help shape the game, but just remember, fun and design come first. If a feature doesn't enhance the game, it may have to go. After all, we're all about crafting the best game, not just adding features for the heck of it.

What are the tier levels and associated rewards?

For all the details, do take a peek at our membership levels. But to give you a taste: being a member means early access to our game prototypes, an invite to our Discord server, free copies of our games, and even some sweet discounts.

Are there any physical rewards or merchandise?

We are working on making some merch available for our existing games and future prototypes. We will update the community as soon as those become available.

How are funds being used?

Primarily, they help us cover costs for our prototypes and even turn some of them into full games! This means we can support our tiny dev team, amazing freelance artists, sound designers, composers, and cover software, hardware, and license fees.

While we have other game projects and a catalog of existing games, their revenues mainly support those existing projects. Your Patreon support breathes life into new prototype development. As we're one studio juggling different projects, we reserve the right to use the funds at our discretion. But remember, our goal is always to create top-notch games and give you a unique peek into the game development process.

What is the timeline for game development?

Well, with your amazing support, we aim to release new prototypes every 4-6 weeks. Of course, this can vary depending on the resources we raise on Patreon and other places.

Here's how it works: we announce a new prototype, then aim to release a build to our awesome supporters within 4-6 weeks. From there, we keep improving the game as we develop new prototypes. The ones players love playing the most will get consistent updates and new builds, while the less popular games might need to be put on the back burner.
