A Weekly Fantasy Web Comic

Putting a fantasy on paper, one brush stroke at a time!

Milestone Goals
Dungeon Gates Unlocked!
$100 per month
If I can make $100 per month, I'll be able to get out of the dungeon in terms of net-loss/gain for the money/time I spend on creating my art!
Master Sword Get!
$1,000 per month
$1000 per month will allow me to seriously step-up production to many more pieces per month. I'd do two pages a week of Citadel and take on more fun illustration projects, both personal and commissioned!
Power of Dreams
$2,500 per month
If I make $2500 a month on my art I can officially quit my day job and work on my art/comics all the time! This will mean a huge out-pouring of new content, three Citadel pages a week and plenty of printed materials to send to all my wonderful patrons!
Accension
$5,000 per month
$5000 per month will basically make Citadel a monthly self-published title I can then attempt to throw at Diamond for distribution. This is an unprecendented level of success and would be a dream come true!

About

A Vermont cartoonist with a New York soul! I draw the fantasy web comic Citadel and am an active member of the VGM Remix/Rearrangement community as a fan and album artist! I love gaming and game culture and create a lot of fan art in my spare time!

Location

Vermont, USA
Citadel is my weekly fantasy webcomic. In order to keep the project going, I need funds to regularly order supplies, paper, ink, tools etc, that are used in each page's creation. I also need to get my art into people's hands! I believe in the power of print and that print comics will never truly go away. Despite being a web-comic, when each chapter is completed I do a print-run of books to send to contributors, bring to conventions to sell and put my work in the hands of those who might not even have seen it online, and some who have!

I work traditionally on bristol board mainly with quality Raphael brushes, micron/tech pens, Pentel Pocket Brush and white out...among many other pencils, erasers and drawing tools. I go through them surprisingly quickly and having cash on hand to replace them after paying my bills is difficult! I'm hoping patron support will mostly keep me well supplied so I can continue to crank out weekly comic pages and other illustrations/sketches/art.

I do also color pieces in Photoshop occasionally, and all my pre-press is digital. Patreon support will go to some computer up-keep and also, most importantly, pay for printing costs. I hope to be able to reward each patron with copies of my comics and prints of my illustrations as I complete them. I'll even throw in customer sketch cards and art/drawings for certain levels of support! I love original art and feel it's value is well beyond the initial price paid for it.

I'm a budding cartoonist who just wants to be able to support the creation of my work in an ever growing competitive field, and working in a genre that has not quite seen the resurgence in comics that it's seen in other media forms like movies or video games. Please consider becoming my patron and let's explore the worlds I create together!

Thanks,
-RD
