F.W. Cartography  is creating maps for scifi & fantasy tabletop games

Hello there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I'm Sebastian, the proprietor of Foreign Worlds Cartography. My love of mythic and alien places has lead to the desire to bring them to life, which is what I do in my maps. And if you care to join me, I can do it for you, too!

The maps that I create are world- and regional maps, city- and town maps, encounter maps, but also space- and starship maps. The content I create is not bound to any particular rule set, whether it is D&D, Pathfinder, Starfinder, or something else entirely. Simply put, I create content that is system-agnostic.
For example, that star map can be a location in your Starfinder or Traveller game, but it can just as easy be a depiction of the corner of the multiverse where your epic fantasy campaign takes place. And just the same, that dungeon map doesn't care whether you populate it with NPCs and players wielding Swords +1 or Lasguns.

  • map versions as printable PDFs and high quality JPGs
  • gridded and gridless versions - fight your battles, or just illustrate what's happening
  • labelled and unlabelled versions - you can conviniently follow the scenarios I sketch out for you, or create your own
  • most maps will contain background lore & adventure hooks in their .pdf versions
  • access to polls, tutorials, map variations, layered .psd files and more on higher tiers!

If you choose to become my patron you will contribute every time I release new content. Currently this will be around 2-3 times a month, though this may change depending on the complexity of the material I create for you. Additionally to one-off maps I will also create content based on one or more hooks that you as my supporters will have the chance to suggest (one larger scale map & several smaller, more localized maps). This could be, for example, a map of a kingdom, followed by a village map and a number of encounter- or battle maps. This, of course, works across all genres: you could just as well start with a star system map, followed by a planet/moon map, then other locales (asteroid base, hangar, smugglers tavern, starship deck plan).

How many maps in total it'll be depends on you: we could move on to the next idea after 3 or 4 maps, but we may just as well be able to flesh it out a lot more if you say so. Your feedback will help me to be able to tailor my maps to meet your needs, so don't hesitate to share your thoughts and suggestions with me!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart forsupporting my work!

As a novice to the adventuring life you'll need maps to not get lost on the way! Here are:

  • HQ map versions
  • Labelled and unlabelled versions
  • Gridded and gridless versions
  • Votes & suggestions: Take part in the creative process by participating in polls and brainstorms for the maps
Village Hero
$2 or more per creation

You've fought a battle or two, and are well respected (or feared) in the local community! It's only logical that your rewards are higher then:

  • Access to all lower tier rewards, plus:
  • Lineart versions of the maps (where applicable)
  • Get credited on my website & in the content sold on external sites like DriveThruRPG
Veteran Adventurer
$5 or more per creation

You've travelled far and wide, have vanquished mighty foes, and made a name for yourself! Your bounty thus is:

  • Access to all lower tier rewards, plus:
  • Gain access to my Photoshop files for all the maps you pledge towards (if I manage to cram them into Patreon's upload limit). They're structured in a way that's easy to edit and can be used with free programs like GIMP. Place your own labels, see how I work, learn a thing or two, and gain greater freedom with the maps you've supported!
Goals
$6 of $300 per creation
I've been making maps for more than half a decade by now and picked up a thing or two along the way. If we match this goal I'll start sharing tips and tricks with you, both in the form of full map tutorials and smaller guides for map elements like forests or mountains.
