Sucker For Punishment
I will write an update of no less than 2,000 words, at least FOUR times a week.
Seriously?
I will write an update of no less than 2,000 words, at least SEVEN times a week. Also, once completed, I will organize a print run of The Icarid, which all people who have pledged will have the first opportunity to purchase at a steeply discounted price.
WTF!?
I will quit my job, give up on hygiene completely, and live as a hermit, foregoing even food and drink as I update constantly until such time as The Icarid is complete or I die from malnutrition. Assuming the former, I will also organize a print run of both The Icarid and all three volumes of the Encyclopaedia Moronica, to which all people who have pledged will have the first opportunity to purchase at a steeply discounted price.
About
Drawing on fifteen years of experience as a tech support monkey, I crafted three volumes of the Encyclopaedia Moronica in a little under nine months. My latest project is to write my longest story yet - The Icarid.
And because I'm a sucker for punishment, to have it done by the end of November 2014.

In a nine month period I created three ebooks (the Encyclopaedia Moronicae), consisting of 160 short stories based around my personal history in technical support - writing 104 of them over a 100 day period.
But this is nothing like that. This is something new.
The Icarid is a story that I've had kicking around in the hind quarters of my brain for a while now. I intend to get it on to paper by the end of November (oh God, why did I say that?) so it will happen, one way or another.
Of course, this would be much easier with a bit of support from you, the readers...
What is The Icarid?
The Icarid is the tale of one Tobias Kirk, who wakes up alone in a very strange room. Little does he know, this is one of the less unusual things that is going to happen to him today...
The Icarid is intended to be approximately 50,000 words long, and set in the not-so-distant future as everyman Tobias Kirk is unwillingly thrust into a journey of discovery, ultimately uncovering the truth of a conspiracy that will shake the world he thinks he knows to its very core.
Synopsis
My name is Tobias, Tobias Kirk.
This morning I woke up in a room with no walls, no ceiling, and no floor. That was my first clue that today was probably not going to be a normal day.
And it hasn't been.
So far today, a rogue AI has stolen my identity; I traveled to the edge of the known universe; a planet was accidentally destroyed (which I had nothing to do with, I swear!); another planet was deliberately destroyed (which I may have been tangentially involved in); and my electric bill is overdue because a rogue AI emptied my accounts after stealing my identity. Wait, did I mention that already?
Today couldn't possibly get any stranger, right?
Right?
