GameBreakers Media serves a community of Tier Zero gamers dedicated to embracing the art behind the science of character optimization and narrative design. We have loads of content on deck including optimization how-tos, amusing in-play examples of GameBreakers, reviews of popular RPG systems, and community driven actual plays. We'll also be producing GM tips on how to balance a game without limiting your players' creativity, how to challenge Tier Zero players, and how to become a Tier Zero GM.

GameBreakers Media all starts with a core group of dedicated RPG players, with over 60 years of combined gaming experience, who have gamed with hundreds of players around the world live and online. In all those years and all those games, we ran across fellow GameBreakers and helped other bright sparks reach their Tier Zero potential. We've found talented Tier Zero GMs and learned the tricks they use to keep us challenged and intrigued. We've also had the chance to school . . . erm, that is, teach fledgling GMs how to use those tricks, as well as the folly of being emotionally invested in a villain's success.

The GameBreakers Media team:
Scraigon Earhart-Stokes: Writing, Editing, Tech Guru
Allison Edrington: Writing,  Editing, Marketing, Community and Content Manager
Thomas Edrington: Writing, Production, Business Development

Now, through the miracle of modern technology, we have the opportunity to share that knowledge broadly to help gamers that we may never even meet to pepper their games with Crowning Moments of Awesome. We also have the opportunity to gather around us a community of gamers who are wily enough to create characters that make a GM spit-take her Mountain Dew, creative enough to cut some numbers without losing character focus, and mature enough to put the fun of the table first. We'll be able to share our stories, hear theirs, and bring together new combinations of these folks into games of their own to build some truly epic stories.

Thanks in advance for helping us make this happen, and welcome to the GameBreaker community!

Thanks for your interest, and welcome to the GameBreakers community!

At this level of patronage, you'll receive access to our Discord servers where we hang out to toss around ideas to optimize your character and games, and get feedback from our audience.

Any patron pledge also gets you our forgiveness for blocking ads on our YouTube videos. Most of our budget comes from ads, but helping our Patreon means we have to rely on them less. Thanks!

$3 or more per month
We appreciate your support. In addition to access to our community tools and early access to our content, at this level we'd like to invite you to participate in our productions.

As we create actual plays across worlds and systems, our GMs are going to have to make up scores of NPCs on the fly from a variety of sci-fi and fantasy cultures. To make sure we don't have to default to "Bob Jones, Neptunian dinosaur hunter," we're going to keep a running list of NPC names that we can use in a pinch. Our $3 patrons can add names to this list. Pick a system and give us a good one. You never know what's going to happen with an incidental NPC generated on the fly. Having a great name gives a GM cues on personality. You may end up naming our next crowd favorite. Every time we use one of your names, we'll give you a shout out!

Veteran patrons will also have the option of sitting in on our filming sessions through Roll20 and Skype. There's a lot of fun stuff that doesn't make it past editing, and you'll get to see it all!
Grognard
$7 or more per month
We're so grateful to our fellow GameBreakers who contribute at this level. Even a handful of Grognards each moves us significantly toward our goals. As a key member of our community we want you to participate in voting and nominations for systems we'll feature next on GameBreakers  actual plays, and our instructional videos.

We want to feature our patrons' GameBreaking skills at this level. Grognards will be able to contribute an NPC to the next story arc. We'll work with you to develop a fully fleshed out NPC and put it into our upcoming actual play. These NPCs will help us fill out our incidental friendly NPCs, like a bartender with a clue or a shopkeep with a bargain.

Thanks for helping us make it fun for you and all the rest of the GameBreakers out there. This level of pledge is the most important pillar of GameBreakers Media's funding strategy. We know our audience isn't made of millionaires, and gaming books aren't getting any cheaper!

The NPCs our patrons at this level create will be either be regular contacts of our PCs or a character with a smaller but more significant role in the story, like a warrior's old mentor or a high ranking temple priest that wants the party to succeed. Alternately, we'd like you to challenge us. Make a memorable one shot antagonist and see what kind of GameBreakers we have to use to get past it. In any episode where your NPC is featured you'll have earned a writing credit. We'll also feature any number of your less impactful incidental NPCs.

$15 or more per month
You're going above and beyond, and we want to show you how much that means to us.

You're clearly a competent GameBreaker if you've climbed to this level of support. You're the sort of player that we trust to create key pieces of our stories. The friendly NPCs created by our patrons at this level will be major figures in our PCs lives and be integral to the entire season's story arc. Depending on the system we're playing that season, it could be the driving love interest, the patriarch of a tribe, the superheroes who founded the League of PC Adventure Hooks, or the last fairy who must be saved to keep the Allspark from fading forever. The sky is the limit! We'll be working closely with you to integrate your NPC into the setting and weave the story around them. Once we've gathered enough support to start our live games, this can even happen in real time.

Alternately, you could be our nemesis. Work directly with our (sometimes celebrity) GMs to create the sort of antagonist that crops up again and again, each time matching the PCs GameBreakers with Tier Zero counters of its own. You'll be creating the Big Bad's Dragon or Trusted Lieutenants, an interested 3rd party with insight into the PCs' weaknesses, or the lifelong enemy who's sworn to end the PCs and will allow no other the killing stroke. Make us something we'll love to hate, and you'll love to watch us hate it.

For either of these options, you'll receive full writer credits. With your permission, we'd also like to film the NPC's creation sessions to edit into a "Making of . . ." video, so people can see all of your Tier Zero skills at work and understand the mechanics that don't always get detailed in the heat of the action.
Tier Zero Player
$20 or more per month
Alright, we can't deny it. You're clearly a Tier Zero player.

You obviously appreciate the information and experience we have, and are willing to sacrifice to give us the ability to produce better and more polished content. Come sit in on an upcoming actual play series and play remotely with the GameBreakers. Join us in our production planning sessions (that's right, we're gonna make you do the boring stuff, too!), and help us build the series direction. Anyone like you is welcome at our table, or you can gift this opportunity to your most beloved Tier Zero gamer. Work with all the Tier Zero and celebrity GMs we can find to bring something epic to life with us.

Since you're creating an important piece of the world and playing it on screen, this level of patronage comes with Writer and Cast credits.
Tier Zero GM
$50 or more per month
Don't lie. You want something.

We know what you want. You want to run the show. You want to match wits with a table of Tier Zero players and never have to feel bad about pulling all the stops and none of the punches. You want to have planned a brilliant twist and put on your best poker face as we stumble upon it. You want the opportunity to see a system of your choice have an entire community of brilliant gamers give input to drive forth a story that you make.

You are a Tier Zero GM, and you want the chance to show it.

We figure that means one of 4 things:

- You've developed a game system yourself and would like to see what it can do in the hands of dedicated GameBreakers.

- You're a professional GM for one or more established games, or you have a channel of your own and would like to collaborate.

- You're a Tier Zero GM stuck in "Tier What?" world, always the noble storyteller willing to hold new players' hands through the process of discovering this amazing hobby of ours. Your most diabolical contraptions, dastardly villains, and heartless plot twists are left in the back of dusty old file folders.

- You are the mother of one of the people mentioned above, and want them to be happy even though you think this is all a little wierd.

Well, whatever your reason, you've sacrificed so much for us that we cannot help but oblige. Name your system and we'll skip the usual voting process and go straight to casting, gathering NPCs from our patrons, and give you access to the community's NPC name list. You'll work hand in hand with the GameBreakers to tell your story and help us create something truly memorable.

This level of patronage earns you Writer, Cast and Producer titles in the series' credits. If you have a product or a channel that you'd like to tie into the series, we'll give it a shout out every episode and cross promote you on all of our online outlets. Of course, you'll also recieve the entire collection of swag for the season you GM, and our eternal thanks and praise.

Tier Zero Sponsor
$100 or more per month
Oh, come on. You don't just want something, you're selling something, and want us to help you sell it. We're on board with that, but we want to make sure that you know we knew that you know that we know that.

This makes your gaming related product or service an official sponsor of one season of a GameBreakers Media production of your choice. This will include your logo on the video overlay, prominent logo space on the video thumbnail, shout outs every episode, and regular social media engagement to start. We're flexible, and interested in your creative suggestions about how we can help you tell our community about what you have to offer.

If you want to sponsor an actual play and there's a Tier Zero GM involved with your business, we welcome their participation. If not, feel free to bring on a GM of your choice or ask us to approach any of the Tier Zero GMs that have appeared with us to run the game for the season.

This level of patronage is limited, and we may be selective about the sorts of products and businesses that we work with. There are a lot of predatory hucksters out there, and we have a responsibility to our fellow GameBreakers to make sure anything we promote meets Tier Zero standard of quality and ethical practices.

Your support means everything to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Goals
0% complete
Working up to this goal will give us the opportunity to produce our first instructional series sets, plus our regular actual plays:

Actual Plays: We're inviting game designers, fiction writers, actors, comedians and other familiar faces to sit down with us and our patrons to record Actual Play games across our favorite systems. We want our Actual Plays to be community driven, and we want to play with you! We want to you help build the world we game in, or join in on the fun. Let us know what games you want to play, and we'll get something put together.

Tier Zero Character Optimization: A primer for new and veteran gamers on how to squeeze everything out of character building without skimping on flavor, background, and party cohesion.

An Applied Primer on GameBreakers and Wheaton's Law : How not to be "that guy." A look at how to use optimization to unite and enliven a table of gamers, rather than alienate and divide it.

GMing 899: Tips for Tier Zero GMs: After you've mastered the fundamentals of running a game, this video series will draw from the world of improv theater and workshop-style storycrafting to help you with the techniques and nuance you'll need to take your game to the next level.
