Mircea Kitsune Update: It appears I was wrong in my previous comments, sorry everyone. VAT is not just a money transfer tax, which seemed like the only sane possibility at first. Tax institutions actually care about what you do on websites that you get money from, and if you have one you're automatically treated like a company! I initially thought that income taxes only apply to people who are legally employed (with a contract), not hunting down internet users over their websites. This VAT mess dragged me into the weird world of financing rather suddenly, so this is new to me. I find it ludicrous that anyone could imagine the users of a website like Patreon collecting and sending the data of their supporters to state institutions. What are we... Bill Gates? Seriously people, what planet do you live on... and I'm looking at those of you who make the laws! Even a 13 year old can use Patreon, and by your logic they're supposed to be bank accountants as well now. We can only pray our government doesn't accidentally detonate a nuke at this point, seeing how blind their incompetence and ignorance can be... unbelievable! I'm so glad Patreon decided to fix this on their end! If they didn't, I would have had to either shut down my Creator page, either ignore this whole craze and be paranoid that I might get arrested. And since I need the money to survive, it would have certainly been the second option. Year 2015: The day when you become a criminal for registering on a website and putting a bank account in your profile to get donations for a drawing :(

Valerio Varriale VAT is a tax on consumers and was never intended as a tax on producers. This is the reason because different goods and services have different VAT (e.g. in Italy VAT is 4% for plain bread but is 22% for exotic fruit): you contribute to the working of the society in proportion of what you spend. In this perspective is only natural that who «sets the general terms and conditions, or authorises payment, or handles delivery/download of the digital service»[https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-supplying-digital-services-to-private-consumers/vat-businesses-supplying-digital-services-to-private-consumers#vat-accounting-options-for-businesses-supplying-digital-services-to-consumers], in our case Patreon, also collects VAT from the consumer/patron. Any consultant with a different interpretation seems more interested in a creative interpretation of law and make the client happy instead of provide advice based on facts and truths. I welcome this decision because it is a good news: is a return to legality and the end of a sword of Damocles of creators heads. It was an embarrassing situation for all the party involved and was legally dangerous for the creators in EU; I hope Patreon will choose better advisors for the future.

Marilyn Morningstar Carsie, this may be my favorite of all your "Jazz if for everybody" numbers. I WISH you would post these wonderful new songs to your Jango song list, they are so far superior in depth and style to your earlier ones on there. I absolutely LOVE these jazz/blues songs. WOW!

Keith McNeil Perfect for this chilly winter day, a song you can wrap your ears around like hands on a hot mug of cocoa. Warms the soul.

Carrie Snopek This song is light and refreshing in contrast to the really desperate love songs we hear on mainstream radio sometimes, imo. However angsty, desperate, clinging love can be unhealthy for us, as attachment of any kind is a product of fear and insecurity in a way, it may ring true for some people, and I myself can appreciate them as well sometimes, but this is more up my ally as far as my thinking on life and love. Although both types of songs have merit, I enjoyed this so much because it's the first I've heard (that I remember) with this philosophy in mind. Reminds me of how I feel when reading "Sex at Dawn" by Christopher Ryan about our natural instincts and how we shouldn't be ashamed of our natural inclinations for love and connections of all kinds, despite what mainstream American culture might pretend is the 'right' or 'normal' thing to do... to understand that we're not naturally built or wired for monogamy, necessarily. I know you don't always mean physical love, but I get it. This brings up the new ideas about relationships, etc. about freeing yourself, and realizing that life is about love and how we need to loosen up and realize that it's ok to let yourself 'feel what your wanna feel'. You sound truly happy! I agree with Keith and Jon as well. :) Looking forward to your next song, Carsie! Take care! :)
