Hi, thanks for considering supporting GreenMotor.

I started blogging about  electric cars and hybrids in 2007, because I got so frustrated by how the mainstream motoring publications were writing about these cars at the time.

A decade ago most motoring writers dismissed hybrids as inferior to diesels and reviewed EVs as if they had just fallen out of a clown car with detachable doors and wheels. At the same time they wrote lovingly and lyrically about V8s and Porsches and Ferraris and other four-wheeled dinosaurs. I wanted to create something that would talk about the future of motoring with a similar level of interest and passion.

Nine years and 600-odd articles later I’m still doing it, though the world has changed a lot. Today you can buy Porsches and Ferraris that are hybrids and plug-ins. A pure electric Tesla can now leave an Aston Martin in its dust. Lots of people understand what obtuse acronyms like BEV and PHEV stand for.

From my earliest days of writing about the  G-Wiz, the experimental electric Mini, or the pre-production Nissan Leaf, to more recent reviews of the Tesla Model SBMW i3 or the latest Toyota Prius, I’ve tried to provide honest, interesting, first-hand accounts of what electric cars, hybrids and plug-in cars are like to drive and why they matter.

It has long been a labour of love – I’ve spent a hundred times more money travelling to try out and photograph cars than GreenMotor has ever earned in advertising.

I want to carry on doing it, and I hope you’ll carry on reading. If you can send a few pennies my way each month, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

For the price of a slightly nicer cup of coffee GreenMotor will follow you on Twitter and retweet interesting things you have to say about cars or the world in general.
Goals
$0 of $50 per month
At $50 per month it will be feasible to ditch Google AdSense advertising from GreenMotor.co.uk - it will be a cleaner and quicker and generally less annoying site. Hurrah!
