Nick Fury once said that a person can accomplish anything when they realize they are a part of something bigger. A team of people who share that conviction can change the world. So, what do you say? You ready to change the world?

Hey. Hey you. Pssst. You're probably here cuz you're in on the secret. By now, you're already familiar with HGT's kickass brand of bold, powerful, locally-raised theatre sprouting up in Boise. So you already know what kind of cool shit HGT's capable of. You're probably here cuz you're thirsty for more, and want to lend a hand in helping it happen. You came to the right place, my friend.

HGT is handling all of their Memberships through Patreon.
I know what your thinking, "Memberships?" isn't that some fancy thing rich people love to do at the Opera or something? Well, yes, but HGT believes in putting the power in your hands. Our Memberships are stupid-cheap, so anyone can be a part of this. You've seen our plays right? So, you know that it's worth every dime, that we're going to make it whether we are making it with 100 bones we just busked, or with whatever budget is thrown our way, and Patreon is the place to invest your cash in your community.

HomeGrown Theatre is a Boise-based production company.
Together we work with talented teams of performers and production crew to write scripts, craft puppets, and produce locally crafted plays. Days are spent designing props and puppets, including elaborate shadow puppets in a garage/workspace, and nights rehearsing in the basement of the Gem Center for the Arts. Our mission is to serve an audience of peers, a group that seems to have fallen between the cracks when it comes to performing arts. HomeGrown rises to the challenge by bringing the show to bars and alternative venues, drawing a crowd who comes for the beer and laughs, but stays for the smart, real storytelling. We are known for our annual Horrific Puppet Affair, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Orlando, DIRT, Every Man Shift (For All the Rest), and others.

Why?
Throwing lots of cash at HGT helps us get better equipment to put on productions that are both innovative and relatable. And isn't that something Boise deserves? That you deserve? Let's face it, artists make shitty waiters, and for the price of a monthly cup of coffee you can be helping artists make livable wage by doing art, and not messing up your drink orders. You can be a benefactor to your community by housing these artists with shelter to create, work, store stuff, and rehearse. And you don't need to steal grandma's purse to get in on this.

HGT's mission is to never have to turn anyone away, which means we make productions that the brokest of hipsters can afford to turn up for. Inexpensive theatre means more cash in your pocket which means more drinks in your belly! If you haven't been to one of HGT's plays, I'm going to let you in on the secret; it's totally worth it. It's the kinda thing that doesn't exist in Boise. If you have seen it, you're probably at this page to support our cause and become a member, because you already know how it's totally fucking worth it.

$441 of $700 per month
Our permanent HPA stage!

Set Designer Amber Ellis and Lighting Designer Chaz Gentry are designing a longterm set which will be a permanent installation for future HPAs. We’ve done the hot math and will be able to afford the set if we can get to $700 by the end of September.

HGT is known for our imaginative, raw, boundary-busting productions. After the set is paid for (approximately 8 months of this goal being met), we'll use this funding to increase production budgets. Additional money will allow our designers to fully stretch their imaginations, give you some serious eye-candy, and improve the overall quality of the production. Additional budgets for lights, sets, costumes, props, and.... puppets!
