I am a rockhound interested in the art of science. The geological forces that govern our earth often take millions of years to form the amazing, awe inspiring, natural works of art that I share daily. This patreon campaign will enable me to not only explore the world to find and share never before seen specimens, but to also share my passion. Everyone at some point has picked up a rock and brought it home because it was pretty so I know that everyone loved rocks and minerals at some point. Mine never quit.

Super Secret Mineral Blog
I'll send you an email with a password and a link that will get you access to the super secret tumblr where I'll post:
  • Photos of my mineral specimens
  • Photos of stuff in the field
  • Field trip reports
  • Desktop wallpapers
  • Science!  (this may include composition, formation, associated minerals, etc.)
  • Research reports on localities
  • Maps
  • Articles and other things of interest from authors
  • Gneiss puns
  • All of this and more much earlier than IFLM
You'll also get to participate in mission planning meetings when we hit those goals.

In addition to everything mentioned, you will be entered into a drawing I will do every month for one of a handful of mineral things randomly selected each month {details}. Photos of the next months minerals will be posted when the previous drawing has been decided. They will be micro or thumbnail size specimens collected by me and come in a nice display box along with an identification tag stating what it is and where it's from.

Pebble Pup
A thumbnail or micromount specimen in a display box along with a tag stating what it is and where it's from. All of these were collected by me on some kind of rockhounding adventure. The availability of this reward depends on the availability of material so there may or may not be more.
This month will probably be pyrite crystals from Leadville, Colorado. Pictures will be up when I can dig them out.

For you I have a mini to small cabinet sized specimen! It comes with a tag stating what it is and where it's from. All of these were collected by me on some kind of rockhounding adventure. The availability of this reward depends on the availability of material so there may or may not be more.
This month will be massive green/purple fluorite from St. Peters Dome near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pictures will be up when I can dig them out.
Goals
$3 of $70 per [on hiatus]
Taking good pictures of rocks and minerals is hard. This goal will allow me to upgrade my current gear to the level I need to make the rocks rock.
