FAQ

How do I claim my rewards?

Quite a few people have mentioned that they don't understand how to claim their rewards. On Patreon only unedited previews are released. You can access the latest preview posts by either scrolling down through the posts or searching for a specific series by the tags (click the pictures on the left side). Chapters that have already been released publicly should be read on the blog (infinitenoveltranslations.net) as you will be able to read edited (in most cases at least) versions of the chapters.

In some cases, where there exists a disparity between Patreon and public release rates, you might need to access Catch-Up tiers in order to catch up to the latest Patreon posts.

When will I be charged as Patron?

You will be immediately charged upon joining and the re-occurringly on the same day every month.

When are you going to release the newest chapters?

The newest chapters for all series will be released up to 2 days after the latest public release. For example, the newest Spearmaster (public release every Friday) Preview will be released at latest on Sunday. Game rewards are excluded of this rule.

Are you going to make compiled volumes as PDF/EPUB of the series you are translating?

For the most part I'm translating web novels. Most web novels have arcs, not volumes like Light Novels. As for the novels, where I'm translating the LN version: I will make a compiled PDF/EPUB version once the entire volume has been publicly released (optional, when I have time as my schedule is usually loaded with TLing, not compiling pretty LN volumes :p).

Can I request you to pick up new novels as Patron?

Yes. You can become a Sponsor and request a series as you like. Spots are limited. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us on the Discord server or via mail.

Why are chapters locked behind Catch-Up tiers?

This answer will get a bit technical, but bear with me. The problem with Patreon is the inability to assign individual pricings for early access chapters. You can fix that by assigning a new tier for every early access chapter level, but that is not feasible because you'll quickly end up with many tiers, which is confusing at best (one of the main reasons why I removed many of my tiers) and would become super obnoxious to manage.

Still, that'd be just an issue of accessibility and administration, if public and Patreon releases were always in tune. However, I, like many of my translator peers, have been adding more incentive to being a Patron by offering a higher release rate for some series over here.

This creates a fairness issue. Person A who has been a Patron for ten months, obviously paid their tier pricing x 10 months. On the other hand, Person B who joins after those ten months, pays their tier pricing x 1 while getting access to the same content as Person A.

I'm well aware that Person A might be sticking around for wanting to support me as creator. And I'm deeply thankful for that. But it still remains unfair in my eyes.

The solution for this issue within the tools offered to me on this platform are catch-up tiers. Catch-up tiers only affect series that have a higher release rate on Patreon. Catch-Up tiers are ranked by the time passed and grant you access to all the content that you have missed within the tier's dedicated timeframe.

The pricing for Catch-Up tiers will always be Lowest Tier Price x Timeframe covered by the Catch-Up tier.

The basic idea here is: You can wait for x months and join to read up on everything in a bunch or you can be a Patron at the lowest level for x months to follow the content on a regular basis.

However, Catch-Up tiers always follow a count of a weekly release rate. If the regular release on Patreon has been faster, you naturally lose out in content/pricing. So yes, I encourage everyone to be a regular Patron over joining every once in a while to catch up.
