We are labeled "apostates". We are "excommunicated" and "disfellowshipped".

We want to share our stories.

In order to improve their image, the Mormon church has poured millions of dollars into PR campaigns and television advertising.

Welcome to the "I am an Ex Mormon" Patreon page, where we are passionate about sharing the other side of the story, explaining our challenges and success with a non-existent budget. We support each other and provide hope to those who are struggling to find themselves as they create a new identity outside of the Mormon belief system.

The Mormon church has a phrase that is often used in reference to Homosexuals: "Hate the sin and not the sinner." Likewise, we do not create videos to "hate" on the Mormons. We love the people, but we reject the beliefs. Our videos are primarily for support - not just for "Ex Mormons" but for anyone leaving a high control group (ie. Jehovah's Witnesses).

Recently, as more members of the LDS (Mormon) church leave the group, we are finding that these videos have filled an important role in overcoming common fears and providing a voice for those who are unable to face the social consequences of speaking out. We have received many e-mails thanking us for creating the video series, and it motivates us to make many more. Here are a few excerpts:

"When my wife and I were first struggling, these videos really helped her get over the nasty pre-conceived notions she had about Ex-Mormons. She didn't want to be one of them because she thought they were all angry, mean, crazy people."
"It is and has been extremely difficult losing my wife and children in addition to the rejection and judgement of my family. But I push forward the best I can and seeing testimonials of other individuals who have made the same decision is comforting and empowering."
"It's been devastating in so many ways, but your videos have truly been a huge part of the healing process. We feel such peace, and anticipate a future full of joy...something we never could have imagined without the "testimonies" of others as recorded on your site. I can't thank you enough."
"Thank you all SO SO much! You bring hope to so many people every day."
"Now I'm very happy to be free but was feeling a bit depressed, very alone and confused. Your videos helped me to see that happiness is possible after the church."

Your contributions to the video series will allow us to make videos more frequently, film more stories and increase the quality of our production. Thank you so much for your consideration.
