Lupus has limited my ability to work. It's an unpredictable disease, so I can never know ahead of time which days I will be well enough to do anything. Therefore, although I'm educated, and have work experience as both a journalist, and a Uniting Church minister, I am now living on a Disability Support Pension.

Writing was my first love, so now I write as therapy, and also with the dream of eventually becoming independent of the pension.

I know a lot of my regular blog readers are also people with lupus. Please, please, please, only sign up as a patron if you can actually afford it. If you read regularly, but can't afford to contribute to my work, that's fine. I fully understand, and I'll happily write for you whether you can pay me or not.

If you can afford to support my writing, and choose to do so, thank you so very much.  I am more grateful than you can know.
