About J.A. Marlow
What do I write?
Science fiction, adventure, romance, alternate history/universes, young adult, and so many more genres. The imagination just goes on and on!
What kind of art do I create?
Science fiction, spaceships, alien worlds, landscapes, skyscapes, fractal art, spacescapes, and yes, so much more!
When did I start writing?
Pretty much as soon as I learned how to write. I'm fortunate to have had parents who treasured reading. Mom, A.K.A. Mother Hen, started me on the writing path as a child. I would see her typing away on an electric typewriter and wanted to join her. She pulled out an old manual typewriter that I had to use fingers of both hands to push down a single key. Fingers would get sore, but I kept at it.
The writing bug never left me. At this point I'm at over 50 published novels, short stories, and non-fiction articles. It's such a wonderful feeling to have strangers read and enjoy your work.
A writer sees the world differently, and that fostered and influenced a love of art. When Mother Hen decided to pursue a life-long dream of oil painting, I joined in and found I loved it. Because of an issue with solvents, I migrated from oil to digital once affordable graphic tablets became available.
What is the goal?
I love the creative process and want to keep at it for the rest of my life. But, let's face it. We all need food, shelter, and the various other things needed to live on a day-to-day basis. What would be ideal? Being a full-time creator! More books, more art, more covers, more imagination realized in the real world in tangible mediums. Your support here and at retailers go a long way towards making that happen.
