About JDAnchor

Hey everyone! Welcome to my Patreon page! My name is Justin but in the online world I go by JDAnchor. For those who found your way here from my Nexus page, you probably know of my work doing texture mods for Skyrim & Skyrim Special Edition. If you are just discovering my work from another source, welcome! Here is a little about myself…

I am a Video Game Texture Artist. Like most of us, I grew up playing a wide range of games. I definitely had my favorites over the years but one of the games that I hold dear to my heart is Skyrim. For me, this game has given me an appreciation for just how beautiful games can be. It wasn’t until 2014 when I discovered the endless possibilities mods bring to the table and where my passion for textures was ignited. Everybody has different preferences on what they want in their game when finding mods to install in their load orders. For me, immersion is everything! In my modlist and my own personal creations, you will find only the most realistic and detailed textures and enhancements. So if you’re looking for realism, you are in the right place.

When I first started modding, I had no idea what I was doing. However, I took a leap of faith and found myself flooded in wonderful comments, endorsements, constructive criticism and it was refreshing knowing I was making a difference for people. I was ecstatic that something so simple could gain so much popularity and it sparked in me a passion that I never knew existed.
Over the years, I have gained many loyal followers on the Nexus and have been so blessed to have such a caring community full of friends that I never knew existed before. I could not have made it to where I am today if it was not for them and all of you.

Back in 2017 shortly after releasing my first couple mods, an electrical surge in my home destroyed my computer. To say I was devastated is an understatement. At the time, I didn't have funds to replace the parts in my PC, and I knew modding was something that I wanted to get back to as soon as I could. I decided to let the community know that I would be taking a break just until I could get the funds together to purchase a new computer. I never expected that a purely-online community full of people that I have never met could have such a need for my content that they would help me by providing the funds I needed and filled my inbox with the most heartfelt messages that brought me to tears. To see that my work was appreciated to that extent is truly when an Artist feels like they can take on the world. Shortly after, I was back up and running making more projects. Unfortunately, my priorities were shifted to my regular job which caused this to take a back seat for a while.

With the pandemic, I know that hit a lot of us hard. However, the biggest blessing was that I was able to tackle my biggest project to date. With its release, Sigils of Skyrim was a success. I was blessed to see just how many people loved my project even though it is a Work-in-progress, I was so happy to see how my creativity and passion have grown.

This brings us to my decision to move over to Patreon. Long story short, I want to be able to live my dreams as an artist and be able to create the content that the community wants. Unlike many other artists out there who create to inspire, I also like to create to please. I want your input on what you want and will collaborate that with my ideas as an artist. I want to be able to help create the best immersion experience possible for you in the games you want me to. I need to focus as much time and energy on this as I can to allow this to happen. That is why I am here. I could use your support so I can do this full-time and push out content on a very regular basis.

I look forward to creating more projects and making many new friends along the way. Even a dollar really goes a long way and a percentage of monthly donations will go to a randomized Mod Author on a monthly basis. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I look forward to what is to come and to give you the best immersion experience possible! Thanks for being my Anchor!
