JPGTMS- James Payne Gecko the Mad Scientist. I am an artist specializing in live performance painting with music acts at festivals and venues. With the support I have received in St. Louis I have managed to get my art on walls around the world. I have worked with all the local artists I have admired, and have become intertwined with the music scene through my live painting experiences. The connections I have made are calling for my travel beyond St. Louis.
For the last nine years I have been treading water, maintaining a healthy homestead for my daughter to visit and grow, now I must grow further. There are great artists from coast to coast that are awaiting my arrival for collaboration. Several show and festival promoters as well are accepting my live art into their activities if I can arrive. I have yet to travel out of the midwest to promote my art.
With everything on my practical schedule for spring and summer of 2019 I will be in the public eye of a million people, with a large scale canvas on a easel that I designed and fabricated specifically for travel and creating the ideal live painting experience. Along the way I will be documenting on camera. the end result being a short film documentary and coffee table book that will show the excursion and works created, the travel, the events, and also my current inventory of paintings that is three hundred strong.
Through properly investing my local art sales, and the support of art patrons I have managed to survive in St. Louis as a full time artist. I have obtained several thousands of dollars worth of supplies such as; canvas, brushes, paints, etc.. I have struggled to surpass my living expenses locally so that I may invest in a suitable vehicle for traveling. I drive a 1991 Chevy 1500, and love it. It is spray painted in my style, and has been in my family since I was seven years old. Despite this, it is not to be trusted for highway travel. I am seeking a newer model Chevy 1500, and small lightweight camper to pull behind and live out of affordably as I complete my tour of the country. This truck will be inexpensive to fix and fuel when hauling a light trailer. Also being painted as one large work with my logo and contact information, it will be a great eye catcher as I drive around the United States.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please consider making a donation to this cause. Gas mileage and space have been taken into great consideration to come up with the caravan and supplies I have envisioned, I have many ideas following this tour. The connections I make and events I participate in duration of my travel will allow me to progress.
Artist are nothing without support, again thank you.
