Jackie Summers is an author and an entrepreneur: founder of JackFromBrooklyn Inc. and the creator of the award-winning Sorel Liqueur. A native New Yorker, he served as an Executive Editor for The Good Men Project for six years. Named “50 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Food” by Brooklyn Magazine, his work has appeared in Edible Brooklyn, Plate Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, Salon, Brooklyn Magazine, BestLife, and Alcohol Professor. He was honored to serve as a judge for the 2018 James Beard Awards, and a judge for the 2017 & 2018 American Craft Spirits Association.

He’s also an active voice in anti-oppression, and has moderated seminars on inclusion, diversity, and marginalization in the hospitality industry for Bar Institute, Rochester Cocktail Revival, and Tales of the CocktailPortland Cocktail Week, and San Antonio Cocktail Conference

My hope is that you are here because you value genuine human interaction; that you see the potential of social media to bring disparate people together. My purpose on Patreon is to create a community that supports and nurtures, through art and conversation.

This page will serve as the launching pad for my creative endeavors: literary, musical, and otherwise. I'll post essays and short stories, original song compositions and artwork. There will be political rants and cries for social justice. I'm vociferously intersectionally anti-oppression, so be forewarned: sexists and racists will be publicly intellectually eviscerated.

Most important, let's have some fun and enjoy each other. It's all too serious to be taken seriously. I'm glad you're here.

Mad love,
Jackie

I've had so many people ask when I'll be releasing my first book. Truth is, I'm working on several: one semi-autobiographical, at least one graphic novel, and an alternative history sci-fi opus.

These books will take shape in my infinite spare time in-between writing daily essays, running a liquor brand, and consulting for the hospitality industry. If you'd like to see these works come to fruition sooner than later, help spread the word. As the goals for patrons are achieved, I'll release samples here for preview and discussion.

Mad love,
Jackie
