Jamesblack47 is creating mildly satirical, yet highly informative game reviews

Ever since my first real review: "why mom should let me rent GTA", I have been interested in game critique. Videogames are something brand new, a completely novel medium where creative minds can tell stories and craft beautiful worlds to play in. Or just get a 3-kill-streak, nuke that world from orbit, and tea-bag its corpse. This might be why games need an ambassador.
I have always been obsessed with explaining why I am such a rabid gamer; I want others to understand my obsession and maybe even convince them to share in it. Heck, if I have spent the equivalent price of a small fleet of micro-buses on videogames, you should too.

Why should I support Mr. Black's video reviews at the JamesBlack47 Youtube channel?

Ultimately it boils down to: do you like my content?  Would you like to see it more regularly? Would you like to see it improve and grow and expand? Would you like to see some stuff that not everybody gets to see? If any and all of those questions could be answered: "yes", then you might be in the right place my friend.

From a more pragmatic angle, I'm told that my videos make people really think about games. I'm told that they give a fair representation of their subject material (cough cough, Crimefest 2015), I'm told that I bring to light some things people would never have seen or considered. Isn't that the kind of content that there should be more of on Youtube? Or, just, creative work in general? If you share my Mother's opinion of my work, then you should definitely toss some cash in the hat. If only to IMPROVE THE INTERNET AS A WHOLE.

How will your support help?

Sadly, even though people enjoy my reviews, it is very difficult to justify taking time to do reviews when there are student loans to pay, rent due and a larder to be filled. So often, a review gets put off in lieu of working more hours, which does not fulfill me as much as what I consider my "real" work.

Supporting me on Patreon will allow me to get more reviews out, and help me turn what has so far been an intermittent hobby into a real career. I will be able to justify the time it takes to do a proper review to myself and to my checkbook. I will continue to do reviews for free, on Youtube, but getting tips for doing it gives me a whole new level of validation and motivation. Having someone I don't even know pay me for what I do, because they think it has value, is the dream of every working artist. I hope to reach that dream, and hopefully, Patreon will be the way to do it.

Plus you get t-shirts.

And potentially hamburgers.

Tier Vote!

Because Overkill has published the Ultimate Edition, DLC keys for Payday 2 don't have the value or function they used to.

So, participating at this tier level will let you be a part of a brainstorm as to what to give patrons on this tier, as democratically as possible. Discussions will be held on Discord about this tier until the tier has been filled.

Say it and I'll Play It (Paused)
$7 or more per video review 5 patrons
(Note: this tier is currently paused until I catch up with current back-log) One of the more common kinds of comments I get are to play a game and to do some kind of review on it. I don't have the time to play just everything, especially not "bad rats", or the entire Digital Homicide catalog, however I'm not opposed to the idea.
At this level of patronage, you can dictate a game that you would like to see me cover, and I will do a short-form, semi-improvised, 10 minute video on that title. These videos will be done once every month, however if I get 3 or more patrons in this catalog, I will shorten it down to one every two weeks, schedule allowing.

Discounted Merch!
$10 or more per video review 3 patrons
- T-Shirts! (and other potential merchandise)

Now that the goal has been reached, I have set up a Teespring campaign for JamesBlack47 T-shirts! They come in three colors each, and feature the microphone logo created by Drikus, who you can find here:
http://exhibeo.tumblr.com/

If and when you choose to order any kind of JB47 merchandise, I will get you that item for %35 off! I will probably have to set up some sort of limit, maybe 2 items a month for starters
Other merchandise might become available in the near future.

Free voiceacting! I will commit to working with you for at most a single project a month to provide you with the same quality voiceover that I provide for my own reviews.

Goals
$111 of $800 per video review
I will start creating video content, mostly reviews, on Youtube full-time. 40-60 hours a week, minimum. At my current rate of production, and expenses, this would be the minimum I would need to go at this full-time.
