Hi! I'm Jay. Thank you so much for checking out my Patreon!

I'm a Professional Visual Artist (and Dad to three perfect little kiddos). I make paintings and drawings and design apparel and band posters. My work is inspired by my lifestyle and the activities that I love. Things like surfing, beach and mountain life, romance, spirituality, nature, the human form and love.

I put passion into every brushstroke, I hope you can feel it. I'm also writing my first book (which I hope to have done by Spring/Summer 2020) and I have a Podcast that I've been co-hosting with my beautiful wife Chelsea (who's a Birth Doula

Your support helps me to continue to make art and provide for my family.

Please join me on this creative journey.

The Highlight Reel...

My work has been featured in Galleries from both coasts of the United States to Europe, Art Tours in Brazil, Surf Exhibitions on the North Shore of Oahu and 2008 X-Games. Organizations like Emergen-C, Billabong, Donavon Frankenreiter and Original Skateboards all have licensed my art for their Internationally distributed Product lines.

In November 2009, I was described as “The Artist who is Everywhere” by ESPN in recognition of my routine globe-trotting and "impressive industry involvement".

I've been fortunate enough to have collaborated and/or toured with talented friends such as: Slightly Stoopid, Stefan Lessard of the Dave Matthews Band, 311, G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter, Sasha DiGiulian, Citizen Cope, The Expendables, Matt Costa, ALO, Sean Davey, Mishka, Paula Fuga, Greg Noll, John Butler Trio, Rob Machado and Guns N Roses’ guitarist, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal to name a few.

Prestigious media outlets & organizations like CBS TV, NBC TV, FOX TV, FIOS TV, Surfer Magazine, FuelTV, Surfline.com, Line Up Magazine, Longboard Magazine, Eastern Surf Magazine, FHM Magazine, Penthouse Magazine, Curl Magazine, RagMag & GoOutside Magazine all have showcased my work and shown me some love.

You may have seen my artwork on the covers of Surfer’ Path Magazine and Brazil’s Alma Surf Magazine (who also named me, “The Best Surf Artist of the Past Decade“). My artwork has also graced the covers of albums by such artists as Slightly Stoopid and Mishka.

A Little Background Story...

Art has been a major part of my life since I was a little kid. In an elementary school essay, I wrote about how I wanted to pursue a career in the arts and help people. I'm grateful beyond words that I have been able to make that little boy's dream come true.

I studied Art at Montclair State. My concentration and primary focus was in illustration, photography and digital art and design. I always assumed I'd be an illustrator. It seemed to be the most practical and best use of my skills.

During my freshman year, I started my first company and became a Caricature artist and Airbrusher for private parties around the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Tri-State area. I was able to grow that company internationally and it provided me with the financial backing and business experience to explore my "real art".

I'd always been painting and drawing even when the commercial stuff took up most of my time. My fine art has been a form of therapy and escape for me yet I never really tried to do much with it until my mid to late twenties. A series of life events pushed me to take it more seriously and I finally declared to the Universe that I was going to be a Fine Artist.

Long story short, I manifested some really lucky breaks. One of which landed me in Brazil on a two-week tour with some of my musical heroes. When I got back, I dropped everything I was doing to take a chance at my dream. In late 2007, I made the leap and haven't looked back since.

Why Patreon?

If you're one of the 90,000+ people following me on FacebookInstagramTwitter or YouTube, I hope you already have seen my passion for sharing my work and connecting with you personally. You may have noticed that I always make a sincere effort to respond to each of you personally. Quite honestly, this connection we're building matters a lot to me.

Social media though only goes so far. So I decided to develop this Patreon page as a more personal and engaged community platform. So if you're a new fan or you've been around for a while, this is the place that I will offer deeper insights, special offers, peeks at my process from my art studio and VIP access beyond what I am able to do on social media.

Why Now?

"Start a Patreon" has been on my to-do list for about 2 years now. Raising three young children while also running this business solo and still somehow being creative takes a toll on how much you can accomplish.  Yet somehow, I've been doing it.

At the time of writing this, the Covid-19 Pandemic has made the economy unstable, people are suffering terribly and a lot of us aren't certain how long it will take to get back to "normal".

If you're in a position to help, artists like me could really use your help. Times like this either knock you down or they make you rise to the occasion. I'm excited about this new platform and nurturing the connection that we have. I hope my efforts on here bring a little more love and inspiration to your life.

Can I cancel at any time?
