Got my mojo working!

It is always my first inclination to talk about how I was a teen parent at 15, and how without a high school education I managed to get into University and flourish. Next I may be inclined to talk about how in my late 40s after successful careers in both management and music I switched gears, went back to school and learned to code.

But what I actually want to highlight is that how now, standing on the edge of 52, I suddenly found space to let some stuff happen, and that stuff is painting.

In the fall of 2014 I decided to do something I always wanted to do, to celebrate a new leaf in our lives, so I signed on for a 6 week painting e-course. The course began in February 2015 and that's when the flood gates opened. After counting the days from then until now (211), and counting the works I have made (100+), I have come to the conclusion that this is what I was meant to do, and I want to share it!

Earning an income from this gift is an afterthought, but buying paints is a necessity. I am not painting to become wealthy or to sell, sell, sell, rather because when I get up in the morning that's all I want to do and when I go to bed each night, after dragging myself away from my canvas because I can't hold my eyes open, I am so excited to wake up and do it all over again.

I told this to my mom a few months ago, and she was the happiest I have ever heard her. She said, 'I am so glad that you found this joy, this is what you are meant to be doing, I am so happy you get to experience what I do when I skate.'. 

I want to share this all with you because it's an amazing journey!!
