Sex, drugs, and rock and roll! All right, now that I have your attention, my name is Jim Cherry. I’m a writer with some very solid credits to my name, the novels "Becoming Angel," and "The Last Stage," a book of short stories "Stranger Souls" and a compilation of online articles I wrote, "The Doors Examined," and a very short, short "The Captured Dead." and some very ambitious and lofty goals. I would like to raise my visibility and sales by devoting more time to the work a writer needs.

When I wrote my first novel, “Becoming Angel” I rewrote it six times in six months while I worked a full time job, but that was when I only had to write the book. I used to think the hardest part of being a writer was the writing, but it’s not, it’s everything that surrounds the writing, researching and querying agents and publishers, lining up book signings, writing book proposals, maintaining and expanding social media, it’s a cottage industry that demands more and more time.

While the work is a full-time job, getting paid is inconsistent. Royalties come in quarterly and fluctuate with sales, advances are small to non-existent, author appearances vary, the same applies to writers workshop’s. I’m asking people to support my writing so I can accomplish the writing goals I’ve set for myself.

The Third Day - Two friends grow up in Yugoslavia in the 70’s and as they get older they grow apart. One, Vlad choosing a more traditional life while Janus, a more wild hedonistic lifestyle and when the Bosnian War breaks out Vlad discovers that Janus has become a sniper “who never misses” and decides he must kill Janus so that many others may live.
Ghosts - A television writer returns to his hometown for his best friends funeral and runs into the ghosts of his past in the person of a woman he fell in love with years before and discovers he still loves her.

Dawn's HWY
In January 1966 Jim Morrison, Phil O’Leno, and Felix Venable disappeared into the wilds of the Mexican desert. When Morrison and Venable reappeared in Los Angeles a few days later they were covered with bruises and spinning a story of how they killed O’Leno in the desert. O’Leno’s father who hadn’t heard from his son but had heard the story had Morrison picked up for questioning. The events of that road trip and speculation of what may have happened is the starting point of the screenplay. You can read the first two scenes for free below in the Posts section, and a new scene The Barroom is available to those who subscribe for the $2.00 monthly premium. This is writing under the influence of rock and roll!

Science fiction novel about the habitation of Mars - The plot cuts back and forth between Earth and Mars as the debate rages of why are we terraforming Mars while the Earth is polluted. When life is discovered on Mars it kicks off the ultimate debate do we have the right to kill the Martian life forms in favor of our own?

I want to write great things, I want to write things people will be reading 50 years from now, I want to write books that will say something to people, I want to show people a world they might not otherwise see, I want to show people new worlds of thought and imagination, I want to show people truths of their lives. I can do this with your help.

When these books are finished they will be yours because you were a part of the process, because you witnessed the gestation of these books and know the behind the scene stories of these stories. I’m hoping for $2800 a month, which will cover all of my bills (and worries) and gives me the time to work my writing up to the level (quality and visibility) I know it deserves. I’ve lined up some very cool premiums at different levels so check them out, choose a monthly level, your premium will start and we’ll accomplish some great things!
