"Who are you?"I consider myself a singer before all other things, but I've played instruments and worked with audio and digital media for nearly as long. I sang and played in many bands some years ago, now I write and record music alone. I wrote and published the books Dalmatian Cooking: Cuisine of the Slavic Mediterranean and Lamb Goes In Town!!, and there are other books on the way. I produced and engineered audio for KDHX 88.1 FM, in my hometown, St. Louis, Missouri, for about five years. I've lived in Chicago, Portland and Zagreb, but currently reside just outside St. Louis. I'm passionate about music, audio production, photography, film making, languages, world culture, global cuisine... All the good stuff.
"What's going on here?"I cooked professionally (and unprofessionally) for a little more than 25 years. It was awful and I made no real money at it. Then I screwed up my back working in a factory for a while. Now that my body is falling apart, I'm pretty focused on putting my writing and media production skills in service of a brighter, happier future. In a daring wager I've made with the Cosmos, I'm betting that I can earn an honest living from informing, stimulating, and entertaining you. You'll get full access to my series of podcasts, videos and essays when you pledge your monthly support in any amount. And if you don't pledge, you'll still have partial access, but I hope you'll strengthen independent media now with a tiny monthly commitment to my channel so that I can give you more.
"What do you want?"I want to make you laugh, cry, think, cook, eat, sing and dance, all at once. I want to distract you from your long miseries a few times a week. I also want to thank you so much for stopping by and subscribing. Summer of 2018 is going to be big, and I'm glad you're on board.
Hitting this goal means I can afford to upgrade equipment and software. Upgrades allow me to work faster, and to focus on the writing and production of ever more compelling media. I am a dedicated practitioner of constant, incremental improvement, and reaching this goal allows me to give you more of that.1 of 1
