About JuneBug Lodge

We are two vegans who decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and create a life closer to nature and our vegan values.  In 2017 we created JuneBug Lodge, a vegan retreat in the Finger Lakes of Upstate New York.  Then in February of 2018, we rescued our first seven ducks, and haven't looked back.  We have poured our hearts, our souls, and our dollars into the rescue of nearly 100 ducks and chickens.  We work closely with Long Island Orchestrating for Nature to provide homes for domestic fowl who have been dumped in the wild where they are unable to survive let alone thrive, or who have been saved from a brutal religious sacrifice.  Our ongoing monthly food, bedding, maintenance and medical costs run around $1,000 per month.  The sanctuary is funded fully by the proceeds from JuneBug Lodge, which means that during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've had to turn to our own pockets. Your support will ensure that we can continue to provide for our residents no matter the world's circumstances.
