Hello! :)

My name is Christine! I am a maker and artist going by Kaleidoscope Kitty. My entire life has been an artistic journey and this Patreon campaign is taking my work to the next level. A lot of financial uncertainty can arise by immersing myself fully into artistic work, which is where you come in! Your support will greatly support my creative endeavors while also getting you some art in return!

I am awesome and constantly making new things: designing jewelry, spinning yarn, and making all the things. I have had a shop on Etsy since 2007 and I am currently selling jewelry in nearly a dozen shops around the greater Minnesota area.

Patreon allows me to continue working while funding my supplies and studio. More importantly, this allows me to share what I am creating with all of you!

The history of me and my art

Kaleidoscope Kitty was created when Christine was 10 and wanted a pair of earrings completely unique from anything she's ever seen. After a trip to the Mall of America bead store and some tinkering with dad's tools, a passion was started that changed her life.

Christine is primarily a self taught artist with a natural interest in color, movement, and perfection. This has driven her to continue developing her craft, working to explore other mediums and types of art. Jewelry is her passion: crafting each piece to highlight the recipient’s individuality and features. She buys her stones from the source as often as possible and hand-picks the elements she uses.

Love for spinning and fiber

In recent years, Kaleidoscope Kitty has taken her crochet and fiber accessories to the next level by starting to spin her own yarn. She was fascinated by how creative the fiber world has become, producing singular yarns and knits. Armed with a Lendrum DT and a variety of wool, alpaca, yak, camel, mohair, and angora, she spinsew up a storm.

She travels everywhere with her wheel, spinning at multiple galley shows and also on the rocks at Lake Superior. While she has no plans to own her own animals, she assisted in shearing Alpaca at a local farm and spun that fiber into a shawl which she wore for her wedding. Many of the fibers Christine uses in her yarn is locally sourced from animals that are very well cared for.

BenTine Buttons

In 2014, BenTine Buttons was born. Christine and her husband, Ben, have created over 10,000 buttons and sent them off into the wild! They both have found it to be a wonderfully fun way to express statements and jokes.

In her free time Christine enjoys hoop dance with Hoop Twin Cities, drawing, painting, the company of her kitties, and spending time with her amazing and supportive husband, Ben.
