My sister and me shared a bedroom for quite a time, we even slept in the same bed. I was always complaining that we were getting too old for sharing one room. Every night, before my sister went to sleep, she was listening to videos where people were whispering. I didn't pay too much attention to it at that moment and just let her do. But I became more and more curious because she was listening to it for quite a long time. So I asked her :
'What are you listening to? What is this? And Why?'
She told me that she listens to these videos because they help her to fall asleep. I was really confused.
'People on youtube? Make her fall asleep? How then?'
'Well, these people use their voice to make you fall asleep. They whisper. And I get a really tingly sensation in my head from it, which makes me feel so cozy and makes me fall asleep.'
She showed me some video's of people that were whispering.
'Oh wait, did she said people?'
She told me that there excists a community of people making relaxation videos. She also explained me that the tingly feeling you experience is called ASMR. She showed me some videos from TheWaterWhispersIlse, Ephemeral Rift, Maria Gentlewhispering,... and I was really amazed. I've decided to give it a go and the first ASMR video I've ever listened to was the one from Maria, her 'Make Up Artist Role Play' video. I had to admit. I've haven't slept that good for a long time since that night. And now it's basically 'a nightly routine :) .
When I saw my sister's videos, It started the urge to make my own.
So on the 12th of April I started my own channel!
What Is ASMR?
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR)
' is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli Not everyone experiences it.'
It can be triggered by :
- Soft, soothing voices
- Whispering very close to a microphone, or your ear
- Even, measured speaking tones
- Foreign accents
- Mouth noises like lip smacking
- Close personal attention, like haircuts, makeovers or doctor's examinations
- Handiwork and expertise
- Tapping sounds
- Rustling or soft crinkling sounds
- Gentle handling of precious items
- White noise
And there are others...
Every person is looking for the right whisperer, also called 'ASMRtist' , with the right voice, doing the right things, even using the right microphones, to get them going and what switches some people on can actively ruin the experience for others.
Because I experience anxiety problems and still finding no job, I want to earn some money to survive. It's a bless that I can help people with my voice, my actions, my videos. It's something that I really love to do. I hope that my channel will grow more and more and I cherish every single comment, subscriber and like. It means a lot.
