Why pledge? Well, so far advertising revenue on YouTube has been zero. I want to know that there are people out there that like my videos, and watch them. In fact, I know that some videos -- mostly my tutorials and spotlights -- get fairly good viewer numbers, and some even get good audience retention numbers.

What I really want to know is: What makes these videos most interesting, and what sort of things you want to see me do more often. As long as it's not intentionally dying in-game, there's a good chance that I'll listen to you.

In the very short term, I want to get a new external hard drive, so that I can work with my media and backups. While I don't use QuickTime to record anymore (about 10 GB per hour), I do use Camtasia (about 3.3 GB per hour), and the disk space does add up.

In the not-so-near term, I'm looking for a way to supplement my income as an online entertainer. In other words, I want to entertain you for fun and profit. Someone once said, do what you like, and never work a day in your life. Well, that only works if others will pay you for it.

Remember, I don't just record and upload unedited footage. Frankly, I tried it, and it was boring. Most of my play style/play time is highly repetitive, and boring. Watch me playing a parour map (and my friends checkpointing me to just get it over with :-) and you'll understand. Or, maybe you won't. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFYVR-tqmun...

I expect to be making, at full throttle, 8 videos per month, 12 videos max. That's not one per day. For every minute I record, I spend at least 4-8 minutes editing (4 minutes for the stuff I don't use, 8 for the stuff I do -- minimum) -- a thirty minute video might come from 60-90 minutes of footage and 4-6 hours of game time. So at a minimum, that would be 4 hours of game, one hour of recording, 4 hours of editing (minimum), and then another 2 hours of polish. Two days work for a half hour of video is typical for me, and that's before I spend time keeping up with the Minecraft community.

I'll seriously consider your ideas and not only might I use them, but credit you for them in-video.
Goals
$0 of $10 per video
At $10 per video, this is proof that this has the potential to be a viable level of supplemental income for me.
