About Kindred Crow

Kindred Crow is a Pagan Folk project featuring Irene Glasse (Cassandra Syndrome, Imbolc Fire, Revel Moon), Chris Kackley (Cassandra Syndrome, Imbolc Fire), percussionist Rachel Elizabeth, didgeridoo player Jake Hackney, vocalist and instrumentalist TJ Roch, and late band member singer songwriter Kat Gray (Kat Savery, Twelve Days Dry). Kindred Crow is an acoustic journey through mystery, magic, myth, and mirth: a little bit Celtic, a little bit Tribal, and a ton of fun. Like their namesake, the Crows offer a musical mix that strikes a balance of compelling beauty, resonant storytelling, and more than a little bit of mischief.

In late November, 2016, a mystic, a heathen, a hedge witch, a shaman and a seeker got together to weave the threads of music and magick, and Kindred Crow was born. The band played their very first show on March 26th, 2017.

It's been an incredible ride - we've had so much fun playing music for you! We released an EP - The Mugwort Incident - in August of 2018.  It's available for download right here. Our full length album, Uneven Ground, is available for download here.

The music video for 'Crows' off 'The Mugwort Incident' is right here.

The music video for 'Uneven Ground,' off the album of the same name is right here.

We have some fantastic shows coming up and lots of plans for merriment, music, magick, and mischief. We are so grateful for our time together, and for the love and company of the flock! Without you, we would still just be a kernel of an idea about a "simple folk project" and not this amazing, larger-than-us family which we have become. Thank YOU for joining our "murder" ;)

Our journey thus far contained some 'downs' as well as 'ups.' In May of 2018, our wonderful vocalist/guitarist/flutist/percussionist Kat Gray was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. That cancer is a vicious brute of a disease - brain surgery, chemo and radiation took up a large part of spring and summer of 2018. In response to Kat's wishes, the band entered the studio to begin work on the a full-length album in May. That album will be released shortly. Kat's final performance with Kindred Crow was on Saturday, September 22nd. She joined the Ancestors on December 7th, 2018.

We don't have the words for the depth of our sorrow.  However, it is Kat's wish, and the Crows', to continue to make music.  We are the carriers of her musical legacy now, and we plan to honor that brave warrior-bard with every note we play.

So why Patreon? No one in the band is independently wealthy - the truth of the matter is that we all live paycheck to paycheck, some of us with more stability than others, but none of us have a lot of disposable income. As a result, we make do. As most small bands do. We WANT to be able to offer you so much more: merch - we know you want tshirts/tank tops/hoodies not to mention other fun swag, a full length studio album which will be physically printed as well as downloadable, more music videos, shows that involve some travel for the band....

Join our exclusive community for members-only access to some of our sillier moments, first-to-know announcements about upcoming events, the inside track on our recording progress and amazing personalized gifts from the Crows. You can choose how much or little you'd like to pledge, and don't worry - we'll still love you even if you aren't in a position to do more than show up and cheer when we're in your neck of the woods.
