Photo Equipment Upgrade!
I do a lot of photography and video art... with my iphone. It would be amazing to be able to start investing in high-quality photo equipment: an actual camera, better backdrops, maybe even some photo editing software again. I could spend more time creating work and less time fighting with Siri about the size of my image files!
Over the Sea!!!
If I make it to this goal I will be able to take a working/research trip to one of the following: Estonia, Faroese Islands, or Shetland Islands to do lace history research and study with master lace knitters from these traditions! I promise to work on videos and photographic projects on the way as well!

I'm Laura Isaac and I am an
interdisciplinary artist living in Kansas City. With a background in
printmaking, I now use installation, performance, digital imagery,
and fibers to create my projects. I have a passion for all-consuming
long-term projects that expose the difficulties and benefits of
living an examined life.
By becoming a patron, you help make me a better artist.
It really is that simple.
Sourcing high quality materials, doing research, seeking out expert instruction, and making room to take greater risks means asking you for direct support. I value your donation with the utmost respect and appreciation.
Living in the future is amazing! Never before could artists so easily communicate directly to a wide-ranging audience. I'm able to document my projects and career and share it directly with you regardless of your location! Much of my work focuses on taking these technologies that are accused of separating us from our real lives and each other and finding ways to use them that connect us more deeply. I believe that building a community of supporters through Patreon can do just that. You, as a patron, will receive special perks and access... you don't have to donate a lot, but to be a patron you do have to donate something.
Patreon is empowering for me as an artist and for you as a patron... EVERY contribution matters. You can support the arts on any budget and it DOES make a difference.
I can't wait to start this next chapter and bring you along with me.
What is Patreon?
Patreon is a way for my supporters to help me fund my art and research. In exchange, you'll receive special patron-only perks: fun extras and the inside scoop on me, my studio, and what I'm up to! Unlike a Kickstarter (where you donate a larger amount of money to one big project), Patreon is ongoing. It's easy to sign up. You pick a donation level- anywhere from $1 - $100+ to be charged once a month in return for rewards depending on the amount you pledge. You can also change your pledge amount at any time! See below for the rewards I've set for pledging!
