Weekly Roundup - The Week in Gaming Critique
$100 per month
If we can hit $100 per month I will do a weekly roundup of my favourite pieces of gaming critique from all across the internet. Find podcasts, features, reviews and opinions from all across the internet in a single place, from writers big and small. Available to all if the backer tier is met.
Laura's Best Gaming Butts Podcast
$200 per month
So, turns out there's demand for this in my Twitter feed. I will record a short bi-weekly podcast about my favourite butts in video games. Prob going to go on Youtube with ample images of the discussed butts.
Daily Publishing Schedule
$250 per month
I will publish something every single day of the week. Maybe a video. Maybe a podcast. Maybe a feature or a news story. Something new from me every day. (Does not include days I am away covering events. Also, some days it may not happen because of issues, but I will always make you aware why etc).
Double the Butts
$400 per month
You know that podcast I do about fictional butts? at $400 per month I will move that from fortnightly to weekly.
Laura Goes Full Time
$500 per month
At $500 USD per month I can afford to pay my rent using purely funds from Patreon. At this point, I can safely make the leap to being a full time writer with a guaranteed income stream to cover paying for a place to live. Expect my writing output to increase considerably from this point.
Monthly Google Hangout
$1,000 per month
Exclusive to backers, if we hit $1,000 USD per month, one Sunday each month I'll open up a private Google Hangout where we can chat about anything and everything. It'll be open for a few hours and times will attempt to cater to multiple times zones as best possible.
The Ideal - Making a 40 hour a week salary
$1,250 per month
At this point I will be making as much from Patreon as I used to from my day job. At this point you're my bosses, I will allow you lot to dictate what I dedicate my time to working on.
Financial Comfort
$2,000 per month
At this point, I won't have to worry nearly so much about my finances month to month and can actually start saving money for a rainy day etc.

TL;DR - I'm Laura. I'm co-host on the Jimquisition Podcast, as well as splitting my time between critiquing serious emotional video games and recording youtube shows about butts. I recently left my day job and jumped head first into the scary world of full time writing. This Patreon will hopefully fund the time I put into writing for IndieHaven.com, my continued creation of Podcasts (The Jimquisition Podcast, Laura's Gaming Butts, The Indie Haven Podcast, The Geek Night In, Oh No! Video Games!, Category: Video Games, Year of Steam, Podtoid and The Destructoid UK Podcast) and the free content I produce regularly for other places on the internet.

I write about video games for lots of places. In the last two years I have set up and run a flourishing Indie games website called IndieHaven.com, I have freelanced for Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Kotaku UK, The Guardian and more, I've put out six different weekly podcasts and done talks at various events around the UK.

For the last three years I have been writing largely for the love of content creation, with a day job at a supermarket paying the majority of my bills and taking up the vast majority of my time. I would work a ten hour day, come home and write or edit for several hours, then head to bed and start up again in the morning. However, I now no longer have that day job to rely on. I'm hoping this Patreon will be able to make the free content I currently create outside of Destructoid financially viable for myself, meaning I can afford to take the plunge and write full time while covering my own rent.

I love writing in depth critiques of video games and gaming communities, particularly how they treat groups that are currently minorities when it comes to their representation within our industry. Feminism and women's representation, representation of people with physical and non physical disabilities, representations of Transgender individuals, representations of sexualities outside of Hetrosexual, representations of race and more. I want to write about it, but to do these topics justice requires a lot of time and most outlets won't pay for what I have to say.

I also love my slowly growing empire of podcasts and want to be able to keep putting time into producing them. I run The Indie Haven podcast which does weekly interviews with indie developers, The Geek Night In which is a casual fireside chat among a group of lady geeks about their geeky weeks, Oh No! Video Games! where I talk about what games I have played during the week in depth and Category: Video Games where we break down the week's gaming news with guest critics like Adam Sessler, Max Scoville, Jim Sterling and Mitch Dyer. I also run Laura's Gaming Butts where I discuss the butts of fictional video game characters and am co host on Jim Sterling's new Jimquisition podcast. Oh, I also appear weekly on Podtoid and The Destructoid UK Podcast, as well as the Year of Steam podcast.

Lastly, I love creating coverage of indies over on IndieHaven.com. Since starting the site up two years ago I have not personally made any money from my work there. We have a Patreon for the site's running costs and bills, but on a personal level my coverage of indies there does not pay. I'd like to be able to justify continuing to spend time producing content there.

So there you have it in a nutshell. Donate what you want for as long or as little as you want. Every penny goes toward helping me make the writing I love financially viable and keeping a roof over my head.
