New Equipment
$1,600 per month
My technological life is weak. I need quite a few things. The biggest thing I need to help me move my creative processes forward is a new computer. One that will change my life.
Phase one: A new MacBook. The computer I have is an extremely old pc and isn't compatible with most new technological devices. Plus with a new Apple computer, I can finally obtain a new editing program. As of right now, I edit my videos on my phone.
Phase two: Acquire my very own camera. A Canon EOS 6D. The quality of my painting videos, vlogs, etc. will be much richer with a good camera. I've been using my iphone 5s to make all of my videos. I truly aspire to create videos with cinematic quality.

About

I love making art. And I want to make as much of it as I can. I live and work from my tiny cottage in Pasadena, CA. I also make painting videos and vlogs on YouTube. I'm always working on something new and look forward to bringing my imagination to life. All of my muses in my paintings are people that I encounter in this world. They each hold their own magical spot in my latest collection of oil paintings called Castles. I also love writing and blogging. I'm on a mission to get new equipment for myself so that I might create more professional videos and content. I'm also always in need of supplies or props. It's the best neverending creative cycle. And your support will help carry me and my art into the universe. Thank you so very much! www.LaureneTheArtist.com

I make it everyday.
I love it.

I paint. Oil paintings mostly. Of people I meet in this life. People that when I meet them, I hear my conscience cry out "Muse!"

I want to be able to make art everyday. I want to live in it. Bathe in it. I want to be able to paint and make mini movies with my art on a daily basis.

For the past two years, I've been working on a series of paintings called 'Castles'. Each muse I paint is someone I know or have met in life. Some of the Muses include a real-life Mermaid, a Werewolf, a Harlequin Jewel, Kings and Queens, Goddesses and so on.
Before each painting, I'll hold a reference photoshoot. I shoot it myself. The Muse goes through a variety of poses and fun ideas. Costumes and props are almost always involved. Set design as well if I can manage it. I've had some really amazing photoshoots. It's so much fun to do, and it's a big part of my process. Eventually I'd love to hold bigger shoots, still using them for references for paintings, but also releasing some prints of my favorite candids.
I'd love to be able to afford to rent costumes, and pay for an assistant or two on shoot days. I'd love to be able to hold bigger shoots in locations throughout the world.

I want to make crazy painting videos and post them on YouTube. I already do that. However I would like to build up my production value such as enhancing things like sound and camera quality.
I make vlogs about life and how weird it all is. At times, I make these vlogs while I paint. One day, I'd love to make them as cinematic painting videos and vlogs. Something that Kubrick's ghost would smile over.

I have a feature film I've been writing since 2003. It's a period piece. A supernatural, thriller-horror treatment that I want to create into a movie.

And fast forward into the future, I'd like to write a book comprised of fictional short stories based off of personal experiences that I've had in this life.

In the future, I would love to be able to make art around the world. I have plans for a boutique t-shirt line and throw pillows.

And lastly. I hand make Pendant necklaces. Each piece is unique and features one of my paintings. They take about two weeks to make and I came up with their original design over two years of experiments. Something I would like to improve on is creating some with a metal, silver, gold castings (frames).

I currently sell select works and jewelry pieces on my website at www.LaureneTheArtist.com

If you'd like to support me, you will truly be helping me pursue my wildest dreams. And I promise to make a lot of cool things and share them with you.
