Hey pals,

We’ve been working around the clock to create a fun, informative, (sort of) weekly podcast called Liar City. We discuss and dissect history’s most famous lies and liars, and we try to learn a little something about humanity in the process.

You can check us out on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn Radio (or pretty much any other podcast app via RSS), or on the web at liarcity.com.

We launched at the end of 2014, and the response so far has been phenomenal. We’ve got virtually nothing but 5-star reviews on iTunes, over 30,000 monthly downloads, and praise from a lot of awesome people. For example:

The Big O And Dukes Show
CDVTW
I Doubt it With Dollemore
The Audio Signal

We’ve been told that these are not common accomplishments, especially for a podcast without a celebrity (or semi-celebrity) attached.

I think we’re doing as well as we are for two reasons:

  • It’s a concept that’s never really been done before, but it’s also somehow instantly familiar.
  • We care about quality of content and quality of presentation.

We’ve done this entirely on our own – no sponsorship, no outside support, and using only modest equipment. Our show is, and always will be, completely free. None of that "pay a subscription fee to listen to older episodes" bait and switch bullshit.

In an ideal world, we’d dedicate every waking moment of our time to the show. The world being what it is, that’s not really possible yet. We are, however, getting to the point where there’s some outside interest in sponsorship/advertising.

While this would certainly help us to offset the cost of putting the show out (and maybe even throw a few bucks in our pockets), we don’t want to do this. Although it’s common and not a bad way to go, (a lot of the bigger podcasts earn revenue this way), ads are just not our style.

With your support, we can pay for hosting, bandwidth, a few equipment upgrades, and we can even create some fun merchandise to help us spread the word about Liar City. We can also keep the show 100% ad-free, with no stupid interruptions for nonsense you don’t care about.
