Because we like money, and we hear that you have some. We think it'd be fantastic if you gave us some of your money.

To be frank, we're here to give those that enjoy the podcast an opportunity to contribute to the underlying costs involved in making the show. We probably aren't the most responsible place to spend your money, I mean, we'll just blow it on video games.

Your money would be better spent at a respectable charity, but some of you may be in a position where you can give to charity and to two pseudo-intellectuals with microphones and a disproportionate sense of self-worth. We aren't here to get rich, or famous, and we have no delusions about our ability to 'go pro' or full time. We enjoy this far too much to be getting paid for it.

Irony aside, we're here because we want to bring gaming podcasts to a new level- a pompous, pretentious, and ostentatious level, but still, ya'know, new.

We'd like to become the NPR¹ of game podcasts. If you'd like to contribute to that, welcome, but we won't be offended if, instead,  you contributed your money to organizations that do far more good towards improving the world in more meaningful ways.

Regardless, we love you.

Thanks for listening.

If you're looking for a good charity, our charity of choice is Indy Reads, they provide an adult literacy program in our hometown of Indianapolis

¹If you are NPR, please don't sue us. This site should be a clear indication that we don't have enough money to be worth the trouble. Unless we go viral, in that case, make sure you delete that footnote. Why are you typing all of this? You were supposed to stop after the 'worth the trouble' bit. Seriously. Stop looking at me like that.
Tiers
We'll love
$1 or more per month

We'll love you. You won't show it in any measurable way, but seriously appreciate your contribution to our endeavors.

We'll also add you to the SUPER SECRET Literate Gamer Discord channel.

Writers Workshop - Patreon Feed
$8 or more per month

At this level, you are actively supported the regular day to day production of the podcast.

Backers at this level will gain access to the Literate Gamer Writers Workshop feed. We hope to drop two of these a month, on average. Access to this tier will also grant access to advanced access to projects actively being work-shopped by Literate Gamer hosts (or others pending approval).

Writers Workshop - Editor raise
$12 or more per month

This tier is identical to the above tier, but you are being more charitable to help keep the lights on.

The extra $4.00 a month will be passed on directly to our silent auditory wizard Agustin for his pain and suffering at having to listen to our rough draft records and whittling them into euphoric listening experience you know and love.

Writers Workshop - Participant level!
$20 or more per month

AKA The Swag level and Writer's Workshop Participation

Backing at this level nets you a pretty swanky Literate Gamer t-shirt, and access to all Octopus Park materials (including published works). T-shirts availability is dependent on inventory available.

In addition, backers at this level get their own 30-60 minute Writer's Workshop session with either Nick or Jonathan (but likely both, pending availability). These sessions are recorded (for you), but you have full control on the release of that episode (private, public or Patreon exclusive).

Backers with multiple months at this level will also get to request specific episodes - but this is not guaranteed.

King of the Patrons
$100 or more per month
(All previous rewards)
If you sponsor at this level, we will fashion a crown for you (by hand) and dub thee 'King of the Literate Gamer Patrons'¹. We will refer to you as 'My Lord' and watch with glee as all other patrons grovel in your majesty. Ownership of the Crown, and title, is dependent on duration of sponsorship level and total contributed. You'll get a mention in every episode and the opportunity to record the occasional cold open (pending reasonable limitations). Don't let one of those upstart plebeians take your crown though, renew that membership tier and cement your royal reputation.

This is also a clever way to force us to advertise your product, service, or site. If you are into that kinda thing

¹ Please note, Nick's formal title is actually Emperor, so he will technically out rank you, but he super-swears he'll bow in fealty to you.

Goals
26% complete
Breaking even-ish

At this point, we'll be recouping a majority of our reoccurring monthly costs. This doesn't include direct production costs.
