Who am I? I’m Livia Llewellyn, and I’m a writer of horror, dark fantasy and erotica. My short stories, novelettes and novellas have been printed (and reprinted) in such anthologies and online-markets as Nightmare Magazine, Subterranean Online, The Weird Fiction Review, PseudoPod, Best Horror of the Year, Year’s Best Weird Fiction, and The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica. My collections Engines of Desire: Tales of Love & Other Horrors (2011, Lethe Press and Furnace (2016, Word Horde Press) both received Shirley Jackson Award nominations for Best Collection (I’ve also received two SJA nominations for my short fiction). My first novel is with my agent, and I’m currently working on my second.

Why am I starting a Patreon (again)?
Like a lot of creative people, I have a day job, and like a lot of people with a day job, it doesn't cover all my bills – even with the few fiction sales I get every year. This is a way for me to make some extra money doing what I love while giving readers what they want, which is apparently a lot of really messed-up and dark stories. Everybody wins!

What do I write?
Most of my fiction is known for being extremely dark and sexual in nature, and so will the stories (and maybe serialized novel) here. My sources of inspiration are varied and a little messed-up: Clive Barker, Caitlín R. Kiernan, Laird Barron, abandoned shopping malls, the French Decadents, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, prehistoric religious sites, H.R. Giger, the Eleusinian Mysteries, Alexander McQueen, the Pre-Raphaelites, H.P. Lovecraft, vast haunted landscapes, Jack Kerouac, demons, the Hudson River School, alchemy and the occult, wild and witchy girls, American suburbia, both goths and the Gothic, a deluge of Delta of Venus, a dash of The Story of O... If any of these things – plus healthy doses of darkness, beauty, unsettling explicit sex with humans and/or strange beings, and ambiguous and not always happy endings – pique your interest, then my fiction might just be what you’re looking for.

How does it work?
You pay whatever amount you are willing/able to, for each Patreon project that I post, which will be once every other month (six times a year, starting at the end of September). $1, $2, $5 – whatever you think is fair, and whatever you can afford. You are then charged that amount (PER PROJECT, not monthly) once I post each project (which will be a short story or novelette). You can change the amount of your donation or cancel your support at any time. I’m currently not offering any tier incentives (I don't have a lot of time to do podcasts and video chats, unfortunately), but if this venture proves successful enough to last at least a full year, I’ll revise that with some kick-ass exclusive PDF and print book incentives. FYI, I'll also be blogging here at least once a week, with Paetron-exclusive book & movie reviews and some occasional thoughts/rants on publishing and the state of horror in general. Or I'll just talk about ants because my GOD they are everywhere in my apartment...
Goals
$32 of $500 per creation
When I get to $500 per posted short story/novelette, I'll start offering tier incentives, as well as adding lengthier offerings (novellas!) to the paid projects mix.
