Welcome!
Thank you for making your way to my Patreon page. Patreon is a portal to bring creative ideas and visions to life. I have some really big plans for the future and am asking you to be a part of it all. Living Sea Sculpture: Contemporary Art as Coral Refuge was born and raised on kickstarter and razoo campaigns, huge thanks to many of you longstanding genuine supporters, generous lovers of coral reefs and art. In 2016, Zoe - A Living Sea Sculpture was installed in Cozumel, Mexico. That link takes you to our virtual aquarium in the ocean live, where you can learn about the story and process behind this project. How it came to be titled, Zoe, and how mineral accretion reefs are one of the methods in the tool kit for reFORMing devastated reefscapes.

Every step of the journey, I think of my backers. My commitment to coral reefs, creativity, and YOU is what has kept me growing and going. Together we're shifting the paradigm for coral regeneration and ocean health through new media and expressions, and it's high tide we did!

How Patreon works

With your monthly support, you will be making this work possible. At each level of patronage, you will be helping coral reef regeneration that depends on you. You will be the reason and the season that these art, science, and technology efforts happen. If you prefer making a tax-deductible contribution and/or a combo of patron stylings, please visit here.

Irons in the fire
Here are a few examples of short-term and long-term goals in the works:

- Develop programs to sustain and grow the Zoe project in Cozumel and internationally online. Includes volunteer training, workshops, a local hands-on lead to maintain, plant, and document the underwater project, and a programmer/web developer to ensure the virtual aquarium at Zoecoral.com is working so we can observe, record and disseminate footage and broadcast data for scientific studies, art, and educational experiences,...Lots to do!

- New prototypes for Living Sea Sculptures and innovative reefscapes. Using traditional and digital manufacturing, we'll combine aesthetics and function for larger scale efforts to revive coral ecosystems so they may survive, be productive, and keep hurricanes at bay.

VR experiences of coral reef ecosystems. From the micro to the macro. Using Tilt Brush, 360, Gravity Sketch, and imagination, I want to highlight what matters. New digital media art tools like Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality wield powerful potential to move people to empathize with other species if we use them for that instead of all the things that (um) won't inspire empathy and caring for other species. I was just on a couple panels for the Dextra Global VR Summit in VR speaking on "Empathy and Education" and "Content Creation" with some inspiring pioneers in emerging VR spaces.

- Starting our movement right here with you as member consultants on our projects and offerings to improve the health of our ocean and ourselves. Together we can activate more people through art, science, and technology experiences around the world. Maybe you have ideas and connections for where we should create a Coral Conservatory or more reefscapes?

Science and Culture: Artistic Endeavors Strive to Save Coral Reefs in the "Proceedings for the National Academy of Sciences - Front Matters" is a positive, huge boost to be recognized in this magazine. I'm so inspired by the wonderful volunteers that have joined this past year in Mexico adding more energy and passion. And the opportunity to work with universities and other allies towards our first efforts to do sexual reproduction of the endangered elkhorn coral in wetlabs led to relationships with dive shops and scientists, activists that are dedicated through and through.

There is real momentum and I am excited about the recent conversations I've been recording with biologists and aquarists. Lots to learn when linking the scientists, hobbyists, activists, and all of us who are working on the complexity together. I'm thinking of doing a special show within an established podcast to see if more people will be interested in this theme.

Thank you for being a Patron!

Virtual Tour Guide
$1,000 or more per month 1 patron
You know who you are. You are the sand of the Earth created by corals, for corals, with corals. Living Sea Supporters like you are few. You have access to moving the tilt, pan, zoom webcam. Create a custom webcam tour for public viewing. Plus all previous rewards.
Goals
$973 of $3,000 per month

When I reach $3000 per month, I can breathe a bit to focus more on creating new reefscapes from concepts brewing for years, like "Songs of the Sanctuary." Amazing people are lined up to join the team so we can work faster! I'll learn new design software, cover studio space, and explore digital fabrication and new media to leap to a new level.
