Hi, I’m M.  I love art and the creative process. I believe it should be part of everyone’s life. Most of our interactions with works of art are after completion.I’m offering you the opportunity to engage in the process; experience each stage of creation and contribute your ideas. A work of art is a conversation and a story. Each person has a very individual reaction which is added to the collective.

Why support me, or any artist, for that matter? Because it’s not what you buy, it’s what you experience and how it enriches your life.

Join my Patreon team and get a front row seat to my creative process as I travel around the globe.

Why Patreon?

Patreon connects artists and patrons in a fun and mutually beneficial way.  It will help me build a mobile community; a group of super cool people that will accompany me on my adventures as I live and work around the world. You’ll see life through the eyes of an artist; where I get my inspiration, my process and more. If you want to contribute, I can benefit from your advice and experience. Getting feedback on a continuing basis from a truly interactive audience is amazingly beneficial to my development as an artist. Plus, I need ambassadors; supporters that are willing and excited to share my creations with others.

Secondly, I want to transition from splitting my time between creating and teaching to working as a full time artist.  Being a starving artist in my twenties was romantic and having exhibitions and taking part in the NYC art scene in my thirties was exciting.  Now, I’m at the beginning of my forties and want to build sustainable relationships with exceptional patrons.

What I’m offering:

A role in my artistic life, small or large, your choice!  I’m really excited about the rewards I’m offering and hope you are, too.  You can:

  • get an insider perspective of the creative process, what it’s like to live as a global nomad, and much more.
  • offer guidance as I develop my ideas for paintings.
  • be involved in the iteration process of my jewelry and fashion accessory designs.
  • collect paintings and/or digital works.

Check out the membership tiers to the right for more information.  If you don’t see the perfect way for you to get involved here, send me a message with your idea(s) at [email protected] .

Thanks so much for visiting my Patreon page and taking the time to consider joining my creative team!  I’m truly grateful.

More about me:

I’m a self-taught oil painter, designer and global nomad.  Creating and traveling are my two core passions.  I’ve lived in Mexico, Thailand, Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Croatia, Macedonia and Albania and have holidayed in many other countries.

After completing my sophomore year of high school, I dropped out in order to enter college two years early.  I explored the arts (drawing, photography, dance), but couldn’t find the perfect outlet.  Shortly after graduation, my father-in-law gave me a set of oil paints and a few brushes.  That was it, I was hooked.

(paintings from the ‘Tile’ series, 2001 – 2006)

I taught myself to paint.  At first, I was only able to draw stick figures and awkward landscapes.  Over time, I learned to see; not what other representations and descriptions tell us to, but the true and varied colors, forms, contradictions and harmonies that define an object.  My realism gained substance, depth and accuracy.  I was ready to move on to abstraction.

(paintings from ‘Las Momias de Guanajuato,’ 2000 - 2001)

I find inspiration from an amazing number of sources; sweeping scenic views, ancient ruins, mathematics/physics, novels, music, etc.  My final pieces are oil paintings, but I use pencil, watercolors and other mediums to flesh out the idea along the way.

(paintings from the ‘Infinity’ series, 2011 - 2013)

I began designing jewelry and fashion accessories for two reasons.  First, most of my oil paintings start in my head as three dimensional objects.I choose a perspective and then reduce it to a two dimensional picture.  I wanted to try bringing the original 3D pieces into reality. Second, I’m interested in creating works that are accessible to a wide audience, pieces that can leave a home or gallery and journey out into the world.

Thanks again for your interest and I hope to see you in my community soon!
