I am Mark Samuels and am best-known for my work in the field of Weird Fiction. I was first published in 1988 and am the author of numerous critically acclaimed short-story collections: The White Hands and Other Weird Tales, Glyphotech & Other Macabre Processes, The Man who Collected Machen & Other Stories, Written In Darkness and, most recently, The Prozess Manifestations. I am also the author of the novels The Face of Twilight and A Pilgrim Stranger. My tales have appeared in many prestigious weird fiction and horror anthologies on both sides of the Atlantic including The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror, Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror, The Weird, A Mountain Walks and The Red Brain. Analysis of my work has appeared, as a separate author entry, in the book Horror Literature Through History.

Currently, I make my modest income solely through my writing. I simply have no aptitude for the associated demands of social-networking or online self-promotion – and it is because of this deficiency, or so I am advised, that Patreon is one possible solution. I am told that the weird fiction public's interest in my work is still reasonably extensive; so it is also in the spirit of providing more of the same to these readers that I have started this blog in order to try and obtain a limited regular income of sorts. Herein, I will begin to make available the wide variety of unpublished and/or uncollected stories, in their original formats, from the very start of my authorship. Patrons will also have the opportunity to view here new work-in-progress.

Eventually, with your continued support and generosity, I am confident this Patreon blog will constitute a virtual private library of weird fiction and associated work destined to be of lasting interest in the years to come. But most of all, I thank you for your kind support.
