Notebook #95

It's comic making day! This week I completed comic notebook #94 and have started #95. Asphalting has consumed most of my time, but comic making is still very much a priority. As the season winds down for me in a month, regularity will be established. I'm grateful for my summer job, and the opportunity it has afforded me, but as more time becomes available, I hope to make another video, create some artwork for giveaway drawings, and complete other comic related shenanigans. As always, thank you for reading the comics, and for the Patreon support!

Vending Machine

This month my Summer job has required a lot of hours from me, and as a result I have been falling behind on comic-making. Making comics is something I love to do, and when I can't get to them, it is a bad feeling. I'm still writing new material in my notepads, but don't always have the time or energy to draw and shade them digitally. I will have time this week to do some drawing, and plan on re-instituting my 3-a-week schedule this week.

This is a comic I just drew for next week, and wanted to share it with you on Patreon early. My roommate is in Spain to run with the bulls, and I think it got me thinking about bullfighting. (I know they aren't directly related) I always like to draw animals, and realized I was unsure about the proportions of a bull's legs. A fun part about drawing comics is doing minor research to study animal skeletal structures or clothing styles, for example, I made a comic about the civil war years back and wanted accurate uniforms. It turns out Jurassic Park was better than I could have hoped for! Was it perfect? Perhaps not, but it was glorious.

Dina Rodriguez I haven't seen it yet. Debating on going to Imax or just wait it out for it to come out online. Is it worth the ticket?

Ryan Mason I think it was well worth the ticket! At first I saw it in standard, then I saw it again in Imax 3d. It was great both times, but the 3d was pretty cool, it was my first Imax viewing. I was worried about some of the plot points after I saw a trailer for the film, but it panned out nicely!

Hi! We want to thank you for all you do first off. We are a military family of five, and between work, school and crazy schedules, we have learned to designate quality time together. Most of that time is spent "unplugged", but my kids favorite thing to do right now is listen to you. So we have Peter Hollens dance parties haha. My six year old enthralled with everything you do, and it was actually his idea to go ahead and become a patron. He wants me to tell you that his favorite song is the Skyrim theme, but he also loves The Lonely Mountain. We just moved from Oahu and when you came out with "Somewhere over the rainbow", it touched our hearts, thank you. In fact, I can't listen to it without shedding a tear. Thank you again! Can't wait for whatever is next.

Song of Durin

I shot this video up at Silverlake (http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=151) 


I ended up reaching out to the original artist on this one and got her blessing, and she wants to work on something together!  How cool is that!?   So let me know which LOTR/Hobbit type song you might want us to do together.  Would be a lot of fun to work with her on it.  


As always and I have to keep telling you, this video wouldn't be able to be made without your support.  You are the funding these, you are the reason these are being made.  Love and appreciate you guys.
