I've been writing all my life. It was only recently that I found the courage to self publish two mystery novellas in e-book format and then an in print collection of short stories. The Nicodemus Dean stories can be found on Smashwords and The Ideas in my Head, my demo disc, is available through Lulu.

My stories range from fairy tales and mythology, to science fiction, horror, satire and social commentary. And all I really want is to reach more readers by making my work available in a number of formats, including e-book and print. I also want to branch out into short film by putting some of my ideas out there in a scripted format of one sort or another. The accompanying video with this Patreon will give you an example of what I like to do, as well as a sample of my writing.

Your donations will go towards printing costs, paying artists for covers and illustrations, software and equipment to use in all projects including books, videos, and promotional materials. Donations will also offset costs for classes and workshops, travel, and other expenses associated with creation. I'll always keep my donors apprised of how I am putting their money to use.

The beauty part about Patreon is that it is far easier than I thought to become a creator or a donator. You can set up a regular monthly donation, as low as 1 dollar, to be automatically deducted from your bank account. Or if you're squeamish about giving out your bank information you can buy a preloaded gift card at Target, Walmart, or over a dozen other places and make a one time donation that way.

You can also tie your donations to specific content. For example, you can donate 5$ per short story, with a cap at two donations max per month.

There are two artists I support through Patreon. Ken Reid, a comedian based in Boston. And Peter Hollens, a brilliant singer and musician who creates stunning videos. Ken Reid gets five dollars per month and Peter Hollens gets five dollars per music video with a ten dollar cap each month.

So supporting my work or the work of your favorite creators (Which I really hope I'm one of) doesn't have to break the bank. But there are still some rewards I plan to offer to all of my readers and supporters.
Tiers
Acknowledgments
$1 or more per month 1 patron
All donors get a special mention in the acknowledgments section of every book from here until the day I stop writing. (But don't count on death stopping me. Look at Michael Crichton's output of late.)
You're in the story!
$5 or more per month 0 patrons
Your name will appear in the story. You'll sell the main character's hot dog, or you'll be the school where the MC goes to the prom with her friends. The possibilities are aimless and I love acknowledging my readers this way.
Speaking Parts
$10 or more per month 0 patrons
In addition to your name, or the name of a loved one, appearing in the story, your character will have actual dialogue. And not just something paltry like, "What'll it be Sam?"

Your character will be a witness at a crime scene. You'll be the news reporter who interviews the superhero. Your character will be the historical figure who inspired the MC.
Your excerpt or short story
$10 or more per month 0 patrons
My distinguished colleague Val Portelli, author of ABC Destiny, complemented my "dulcet tones" which I employ in a vlog that I've started called The Writer's Soapbox. It's a companion piece to the Facebook group of which I am also a member an an admin and it maybe the perfect opportunity for you to promote your book.

For a monthly donation of $10, I will promote your book and read and excerpt of your choosing. Or if you are published in an anthology, I will read an entire short story that falls between 1,500 to 10,000 words.
Signed Copy
$25 or more per month 0 of 20 patrons
In addition to the other rewards, donors of 25$ or more will receive a signed copy of any physical book I self-publish.

Goals
$2 of $100 per month
When I reach $100 per month, I will buy props and materials for building and designing sets to put my stories into a visual format.

I will also start creating reward tiers specifically for video content.
