I am a 16 year old born and raised in the southern part of the United Kingdom. Ive always loved video games and commentated on them recording or not recording to make it more enjoyable for myself, which is kind of odd. I know. But, it does make me an absolutely awesome candidate for the next big you-tuber as commentating is natural to me.
However, I do understand its not just about being able to talk some random jibberish over a video. Its also about being able to edit videos as editing can be a huge advantage to improving a joke said by someone or just to keep viewers entertained during the duller moments of a game. But, luckily i can edit, i know i can, I've done it before. The reason? I took computing in my GCSE options and i learnt a thing or two during those lessons believe it or not!
- 'Most people pick up a computer and start recording. Why cant you?'
Well, in all honesty i've tried. I really have. But i just dont have the resources required to create good content, at least to the quality I want my videos at. They're either too laggy, or the sound balance is off due to a bad sound card or headphones or even the fact it crashes when I try to edit a video half way through because i start overloading the system with little edits in the video that the computer cant handle'
- 'I'm worried that you're 16 and do not have the capabilities to complete your goal at this current time.'
I don't really think you should be worried, I have spent the last 2-3 years editing videos, just because I get bored, or was curious about what i could do. Also, I don't really think age should matter. It is, after all. Just a number.
Well, as I said earlier, I'm 16. I'm at that point in my life where I'm making life changing choices like, 'what college do i go to?', 'what career do I want to dedicate the rest of my life to?' and 'Do I chase my ambitions or not?' and the answer to the last question, Yes. I will chase my ambitions. So here I am, asking for help to have a go at my ambition of becoming a you-tuber before I go to the next step of my life which. I hope being a you-tuber will be part of.
