Who are you and what content do you produce?
Hiya pilots, Nicou here, or Lénaïc in real life!
I started to "create content" for players since I was 13 years old, starting with events, groups, stories and of course: guides.
This desire to share grew over time and I started to develop communities, engage them and create a better environment for them; Not only at the gameplay level, but also to help communication with the real people working behind these games.
I want the players to get all the information about the game in order to appreciate and understand the whereabouts and mechanisms as best as possible.

Currently, I am creating content on Elite: Dangerous, a space simulation game developed by Frontier Developments. I created Remlok Industries and its community, and I manage or co-manage many projects about Elite.
Previously I did the same on World of Warcraft, then Star Wars: The Old Republic, WildStar, Guild Wars 2 and finally Elite: Dangerous.

The majority of my time is dedicated to these communities. Creating content and managing multiple projects is a real time-consuming chasm! It takes a lot of rigour, consistency, knowing how to communicate and having enough imagination to create content that will be useful and fun at the same time.
For example :
→ When I get up I answer the fifteen or so private messages that are addressed to me;
→ I go round the communities from the many player groups (including Remlok Industries, around 350 members) to get fresh news and to communicate;
→ On the other side of the curtain, I check what's important today with Frontier Developments as I am Volunteer Moderator on the Forums / Twitch / YouTube  (Elite: Dangerous, Global Community);
→ I then check my website, remlok-industries.fr, and its statistics / comments to improve the structure and articles, prepare new articles with my ideas and what are the players searching on RI. Finally, I think about the strategy to put in place (Between 700 and 1000 unique visitors per day);
→ Visiting Discord again, to update the systems and the current daily/weekly objectives of the players' group I manage (about 40 active players). Communications with members and the other group leaders to make progress on projects;
→ I Work on my Elite: Dangerous projects for the community, such as Galnet Audio FR, Twitch Nicou (FR), EDRPG-RI (FR), the Remlok Great Tournaments (FR), Galnet News, the podcast "The Observatory" (FR), Symbiose  (FR), Elite Meet FR, the Remlok Great Expedition (EN/FR), many Roleplay texts (EN/FR), Mercenaries RI, ... not to mention the many contributions to dozens of other projects, big and small, with the community. These are mainly French but I'm working hard to create as much projects as possible in English. There are more to come.
→ Reading and answering all day to the different questions from the players on different social networks;

In short... I spend 13 to 15 hours a day, every day, to take care of the Elite: Dangerous community, to produce and maintain content :)

Why are you on Patreon?
Well, that's a good question!
So far I have always considered Patreon and the other crowdfunding sites as baits, to eat pizza with subscribers' money... and then I thought... hey, I too could eat pizza with subscribers' money?!

In reality - Even if a good pizza raclette / potatoes / bacon / cream / Emmental / Tomatoes / Onions tempts me well - it always makes me uncomfortable when a person gives me some coins via the donations on Twitch, but let's not hide the truth: it helps a lot to create and maintain projects alive.
It is with your help that I can redistribute the money in contents: gifts, game codes, to pay the tools & hosting the website on OVH. I accept no advertising on the website. I know my livestream are mainly in French, but I've always wondered if the community would be happy to see me streaming in English?

With Patreon, the donations would rather help me for personal expenses.
I do not hide it, even if it is voluntary and that I take pleasure to do it: Working more than a dozen hours a day (5h to 6h when I had a job) would become much more comfortable if I could get some rewards at the end of the month.
► In the end, it could be as if you were paying me a kebab every month. Thanks to the different tippers: gosh, a royal pizza! With an egg! And extra crispy bacon! You got it, amazeballs! ;)

The general idea is to reach greater financial safety so that I can focus more on producing content for you guys & gals, improve its quality, and why not: allowing me to travel to various events on-site?
I have already been able to go to the Elite Meet Birmingham, Elite Meet Cologne, gamescom and the Frontier Expo with my funds to bring you fresh information from the developers of your favourite game. Would like another piece of pizza? I'd create content to tickle your taste.
Patreon is about getting paid for the work and the late nights and the early mornings, and the blood, sweat, and tears I pour into the content I create for the Elite: Dangerous pilots.

In any case, whether you support me morally, financially or physically with big hugs: you are fantastic!
The Elite: Dangerous community is one of the best and I'm really excited to discuss about science, games and more or less crazy stuff with you every days :D
