About Oxfordshire History Teacher

Our mission:

We are on a mission to provide cheap online IGCSE and A level education. We are looking for patrons of online schooling to support homeschooled students across the U.K. and expats. Your money will go to reducing student school fees to allow education to be more freely available to those who need it the most.
The next stage for the school is to set up a co-operative of teachers who can teach a variety of subjects.

Who are you?

My name is Alex Kerr, better known as The Oxfordshire History Teacher due to the YouTube channel and online school I started in 2018. I have a B.A. in History, from Oxford Brookes, a PGCE in Teaching from the Institute of Education, a UEFA B coaching Licence from the Football Association and a Diploma in Sports Management and Business from the Johann Cryuff Institute, Barcelona. I am also an author of several books including the IGCSE books, Changing Nature of Warfare, The Vietnam Conflict and a travel guide to Sicily. I have also lived in Brazil and Italy and have a smattering of both Portuguese and Italian.

What do you do?

I am the founder and director of the Oxfordshire History Teacher, educating students in History and Politics. With my channel The Oxfordshire History Teacher I provide a better understanding of History and Politics. With my lessons, I teach one to one or group classes. For me, it is mainly about passing this knowledge to my audience.

What do you do with the support?

At the end of each Academic Year with your contributions, we will invest back into our school. With the eventual aim of expanding the number of subjects available to students wanting to learn online, to offer reduced fees for the education of homeschooled students, to invest in the website, and YouTube Channel.
We intend to set up a Co-operative school basing our values on democracy within the workplace, and eventually electing members to a board, offering shares to the teachers, establishing a Parent-Teacher association, creating a student council and to support local community education projects.
