Hello! My name is Michaela Oteri or you can call me Micha if you would like. I am 28 years old and just trying my best. I have been doing my CripplePunk Portrait Series since 2016 and have been a freelance digital artist since 2011.

I am disabled and my rapidly declining health has definitely impacted my career and ability to get jobs. I struggle to support myself as my freelance work is my primary source of income so if you like what I do, I would love your support!

All supporters and followers will get access to my public Works In Progress and Final Products with image descriptions for blind/visually impaired.

My discord art server Make Arts is open to everyone here if you would like to join.

[Image description: A digital self portrait of Michaela. This one is older. She has pale skin, dark hair in a short bob, burgundy lipstick, silver framed glasses, a floral tattoo on her right arm and is wearing a black short sleeve crop top reading "The Future Is Accessible". She is sitting in a wheelchair which is not very visible with her forearm crutches behind her, both are decorated purple with black zebra stripes. The background is pinkish purple with a floral ring around her and a border or pink princess lilies that is marched with the same flowers in each corner. /end ID]

I won a Rare Artist award for Rare Disease Week by the Everylife Foundation on Capitol Hill, DC February 27, 2019

[Image description: a photo of Micha, fat white woman with short dark hair in a bob, two lip piercings and dressed in all black, sitting next to a large print of her self portrait, described above, labeled “Rare Artist” Michaela Oteri - “Cripple Punk Self Portrait”.]

I specialize in portraits of all kinds! Be they of people, fantasy characters, semi-realistic, more cartoony, flat drawings, or art nouveau style paintings!

[Image descriptions: Three detailed art nouveau style paintings. The color schemes seem to inspire summer, autumn, and winter. The first is a mermaid with dark skin and a light tail. The second is a fairy with light beige golden and orange and green, clear wings. The last is a faun with pale skin and covered in dark brown hair. /end ID]

[Image descriptions: Three digital drawings. The first is a thin Japanese woman with long black hair and a large white man with shoulder length blond hair, dressed as Howl and Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. Colors are mostly salmon and yellow. The next is an under water scene of a large black woman who is a mermaid, kissing a thinner white woman who has a lot of tattoos and a shaved head. Colors are mostly blue and purple. The last is two teenage girls. The first is a chinese american girl with long black hair and bangs. She is standing with the aid of forearm crutches. The other is a mixed black girl with very curly dark hair and glasses. The colors are mostly burgundy and orange. /end ID]

[Image descriptions: Six digital drawings in an art nouveau-like style. They all depicted physically disabled people. These are a part of my Cripple Punk Portrait Series.  The first is Annie Segarra sitting in her power chair. Her shirt reads "Queer and Disabled". The second is someone who wishes to only go by Em, with her cane. The third is Sophia Chester with her books, the fourth is Mike Mort in his power chair. The fifth is Tyler Trewhella (RIP) with their cane and a cigarette in their mouth. And the last is Keah Brown with the biggest smile. Her shirt reads "#DisabledAndCute". /end ID]
