Your extra support goes a long way, and anyone willing to contribute $15 will not only be part of the List of Patrons, but also have access to a special section that will be created where sneak peeks at upcoming chapters and story ideas will be posted.  Will also share some of the more interesting improvised shorts composed during Skype conversations.  :)

At $50, I need to do more than just say "Thank You".  At the $50 level, I'd be willing to do one of two things:

  1. Have an original character or design that you feel could use some more depth or backstory to them?  Maybe you're struggling with incorporating part of their design into their own story?  We could meet up in a chat session and brainstorm ideas together to flesh out your character and lay some ground work for your character's back story.
  2. If you don't have an original character, but would like a short story written for you (or someone else), just say the word and I'd be happy to write a short story of about 1,500 words for you.  My only restriction is that I won't write anything that would be considered "Not Safe For Work".
For regular Patrons, I'd also be willing to write it so the short stories tie together to form a larger story when put together.

About Steve Broida

I'm an amateur fiction writer who has been writing the fan fiction story Unwanted House Guest for TamarinFrog over on Tumblr.  I've received some very positive feedback from writing it and come to realize I really enjoy doing this.  Unfortunately, I can't devote as much time to writing as I would like to.  The reason for that is pretty simple: I need to have money to pay bills, eat, purchase necessities, and so on.  I already have a full-time day job, but it doesn't necessarily cover all my expenses.  This means I have to spend time out of my day job finding ways to earn extra cash to be able to keep up with the cost of living.

So here's where Patreon comes into play!

Since people seem to enjoy my writing, I wondered if people liked it enough to help support me so I can focus more on writing.  With Patreon, if certain Goals are met, I'll be able to afford (literally) to spend more time writing, do research for the stories I'm working on, and expand my writing horizons.  I'll be able to produce content more quickly and be able to work on more than one story at a time.  It's important to take the time to do any necessary research since the best writers take their time to review material that helps influence and inspire them as well as assist them in incorporating that extra content into their story.  I want to be able to give my readers the best stories possible.

I also want to point out that even if this Patreon totally tanks and nothing comes from it, then that's okay.  I'm still going to finish writing Unwanted House Guest and still want to write more stories in the future.  I want to see how this story ends too!

I've never used Patreon before, so this is all new to me, but if people like what they read, I'd love to be able to give them more!  So let's see how this experiment pans out then, shall we?  :)

I'll be able to make sure that I get one new chapter of roughly 3,000 words out each week.  It will allow me to set up a regular schedule so no one will have to wonder when the next chapter comes out.
