Detroit Diesel Diagnostics and Technical Assistance, Parker Detroit Diesel/GMC Truck Parts and Restoration

is creating Online Community for Detroit Diesel Technical Assistance
After several efforts to establish some diagnostic and technical support for Detroit Diesel industrial, truck, coach, and marine applications without success, I am now taking this opportunity to provide direct support to people that are using these engines; whether for work, pleasure, or hobby.
I am offering three levels of support. Each level offers different ways to engage with my expertise in Detroit Diesel engine maintenance, overhaul, and/or custom applications. Please see my tier options for more information on memberships available.

About Me:

Billy Parker, Detroit Diesel Engine Expert
Located in Central North Carolina, USA

I started out working with my dad at the age of 12 on Detroit Diesel engines. I got my first public job at the age of 16 with a company that had a fleet of these engines. By the age of 18, I was doing inframe engine overhauls, solo. I have worked for several truck manufacturers in their shops, specifically corporate GMC Truck and Coach and an International Harvester Truck Dealer. Additionally, I have worked in different capacities with several Detroit Diesel distributorships and dealerships as a Master Mechanic, helping teach and even doing AFA (Authorized Factory Adjustment) work. I opened my own business at the age of 25 - a truck repair shop specializing in Detroit Diesel repair. I also ran a small trucking company of about 6 tractor and trailers. The firsthand experience I gained operating and driving these trucks and experiencing different failures, problems, or maintenance needs, qualifies me as a unique expert to help others with anything having to do with Detroit Diesel engine repairs, modifications or technical advice. These experiences, along with teaching at Stanly Community College have brought me to the point of being able to share my knowledge in diagnostics and repairs to this extreme capacity. As a hobbyist, I have experienced modifying these engines for competition in high performance applications. I have converted these Diesel engines from standard horsepower specifications to high performance engines for racing and pulling competitions as well as high performance marine.

At my age, I see the need to find unique ways to convey my knowledge to the next generation, especially now as I have seen a rebirth of interest in these engines. Applications to include conversions, hobbyists, and those with interest in older yachts powered by Detroit Diesel engines. In an effort to share my knowledge with others who might gain the necessary help needed in order to keep these engines from going extinct, I am starting this online community to reach those of you with shared interest and passion all over the world. Having already consulted with folks from as far away as Germany and Australia, and as close as the South in the USA, I am hoping to expand my reach and offer tiered services and expertise in various capacities throughout this community.
