Thanks for considering becoming a patron of Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking.

If you are not familiar with Patreon, the idea is that you might sign up as a monthly "patron" of my writing and podcasting work at whatever dollar amount you feel good about.

I am not offering big rewards here. Just a few tokens of appreciation. I hope to keep offering full transcripts of most episodes (time permitting) even though I didn't promise that in any of the tiers.

I hope you will join the 'Reinventing' community here because you support what I am trying to achieve and you want me to keep writing the articles and making the podcasts.

What mission?

Well, I want urban transport and parking policy to do more good and less harm. I want to enable low-impact, non-car-dependent, socially-just mobility. I want urban transport that gives people a wide range of mobility choices. I want urban transport and parking policy that fosters urban landscapes that are productive, inclusive, walkable, liveable and lovable. I want more focus on the ends of urban transport planning (access, placemaking, space-efficient mobility) and less on the means (moving vehicles).

I work on this in several ways these days: 
  1. As an Adjunct Prof at my old University (I am a recovering academic). 
  2. As a freelancer, training, writing and researching parking and transport policy, often in low-income and middle-income countries. I want to do more of this, including for clients who can't pay much. 
  3. By writing and podcasting via both Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking. Your support will help me continue to devote time to this.

No frills service and affordable. I really value your membership here. I will read, value and (almost certainly) respond to your comments on the weekly patron-only posts announcing each episode. Conversation welcome! 
Bus/tram/streetcar
$5 or more per month 2 patrons
Not fancy or flashy but steady and essential workhorses deserving of more recognition and attention. Thanks for YOUR attention here. I will often give you the chance to vote in polls on podcast/article ideas and dilemmas (even if I reserve the right to make the final decisions).  
Rapid-style bus or tram
$10 or more per month 0 patrons
Higher priority and limited stops enable better speed and solid service. Thank YOU for your solid support. You will get the lower tier rewards and a shout out (if you wish) in the sidebar at both the Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking websites together with a link to your site.  
BRT/LRT
$25 or more per month 0 patrons
Gold-standard BRT or LRT have strong segregation from traffic and offer speed, capacity and reliability. Thank YOU for your reliable and capacious contribution. You will get the lower tier rewards and you will be eligible for a 30 minute one-on-one chat with me once per year.  
Metro
$50 or more per month 0 patrons
Many thanks for the high capacity and expensive contribution! Your support is really an enormous help! At this level, I expect you are probably an organization and this tier is like a corporate sponsorship. So, in addition to lower tier rewards, you will be acknowledged (if you wish) in the credits at the end of either show or both.
Goals

Better than a poke in the eye! This amount per month will just about cover my monthly tangible podcasting and blogging costs. But, more importantly, it would be great encouragement to persist.
