All patrons at all tiers can post in the Community (click on the tab at the top) and can comment on posts. You will also get the chance to vote in occasional polls on topic ideas and dilemmas (even if I make the final decisions).
You (and higher-tier supporters) will get access to special patron-only posts, episodes or videos (I plan to start these in early 2019 and to make them monthly to begin with). These will offer brief additional thoughts, insights, background or speculations relevant to either Reinventing Transport or Reinventing Parking.
In addition to lower-tier rewards, this tier (and higher tiers) will get access to extra resources I create, such as pdf guides or how-to documents. Starting in July 2019, you will also get access to an interactive "Insiders' Webinar" once every six months (these will alternate between Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking).
You will join a community and get some additional value not available elsewhere (see the Tiers).
I hope you will sign up if you support what I am trying to achieve and want me to keep writing, making the podcasts and working on this mission that grips me.
What mission? I want urban transport and parking policy to do more good and less harm. I want to enable low-impact, socially-just mobility. I want urban transport that gives people many mobility choices and which fosters productive, inclusive, walkable, liveable and lovable urban landscapes. I want more focus on the ends of urban transport planning (access, placemaking, space-efficient mobility) and less on the means (moving vehicles).
I work on this in several ways these days:
- As an Adjunct Prof, I teach on urban transport at the LKY School of Public Policy, which is part of the National University of Singapore (I am a recovering academic).
- As a freelancer, I train, offer advice, and do research about parking and transport policy. Much of this is in low-income and middle-income countries, especially in Asia. I want to do more of this, including for clients who can't pay much.
- As a blogger and podcaster I share ideas and interviews via Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking. Your support can help me keep going and to improve these efforts.
