Once there are 10 patrons at the Insider and Supporter levels combined, I will poll you about how I might best offer additional benefits, such as a yearly Insiders/Supporters webinar or training session or such like.

About Paul Barter (Reinventing Transport & Parking)

Thanks for considering becoming a patron of Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking. The idea is you might sign up as a monthly "patron" of my writing and podcasting work at whatever dollar amount you feel good about.

You will join a community and get some additional value not available elsewhere (see the Tiers).

I hope you will sign up if you support what I am trying to achieve and want me to keep writing, making the podcasts and working on this mission that grips me.

What mission? I want urban transport and parking policy to do more good and less harm. I want to enable low-impact, socially-just mobility. I want urban transport that gives people many mobility choices and which fosters productive, inclusive, walkable, liveable and lovable urban landscapes. I want more focus on the ends of urban transport planning (access, placemaking, space-efficient mobility) and less on the means (moving vehicles).

I work on this in several ways these days:
  1. As an Adjunct Prof, I teach on urban transport at the LKY School of Public Policy, which is part of the National University of Singapore (I am a recovering academic).
  2. As a freelancer, I train, offer advice, and do research about parking and transport policy. Much of this is in low-income and middle-income countries, especially in Asia. I want to do more of this, including for clients who can't pay much.
  3. As a blogger and podcaster I share ideas and interviews via Reinventing Transport and Reinventing Parking. Your support can help me keep going and to improve these efforts.
  4. [Coming Soon in 2021: I am preparing to launch a new service to help parking changemakers find parking policy reform examples. The working title is Parking Reform Atlas.]

Goals
$35.16 of $100 per month
Better than a poke in the eye! This amount per month will just about cover my monthly tangible podcasting and blogging costs. But, more importantly, it would be great encouragement to persist.
