Klaus Lotz has over 30 years of experience in permaculture, renewable energy and sustainable agroforestry and over 12 years of experience in bio-char research and application. He holds a degree in Organic Agriculture from the University of Kassel in Germany. His experience extends to a wide range of countries and climates, having lived in South America, Europe and now New Zealand. During his time in Brazil, he worked with Ernst Götsch - founder of Syntropic Agroforestry - regenerating 250 hectares of burnt rainforest back into natural diversity and abundance. Since living in New Zealand he has taught sustainable rural development, and is currently a PDC mentor, a permaculture consultant and holds practical workshops on our farm. His extensive experience means he is efficient and professional at assessing land and knowing the best solutions to gain sustainable abundance with any landscape. As a partner of PermaDynamics, he is our primary tutor and director of education.

We look forward to meeting you and offering you guidance with your land.

About PermaDynamics

PermaDynamics is our family-run research farm and education centre for regenerative living practises.

We are continually evolving and working together to innovate and co-create a diversity of ecosystems for food, community and climate resilience.

Caring for the land
We have over 30 years of international experience in orchestrating succession to bring land to its full potential of natural abundance and diversity. Simultaneously building fertile soil, creating wild life habitats, increasing water infiltration and growing a diversity of food crops.

With over 250 plant species, our food forest creates a sanctuary and breeding zones for our native birds, Tui, Kūkūpa, Pāteke, Korimako, Pīwakawaka, Ruru, and Kiwi.

Education
We continue to share, exchange and inspire our students and ourselves how to observe nature, design with intelligence and interact with dynamic awareness.
Our vast experience offers inspiration to all who wish to become more community-sufficient through regenerative agriculture.

Food Resilience
Rippling out from our practice of permaculture living is our strive for implementing a perennial diet ethos. Our food forest, mushroom grove and market garden provide our family and community with nutrient-dense, organic food.
We are continually experimenting, expanding and incorporating more regenerative, perennial forms of food production to incorporate a diversity of foods that regenerate and build healthy soil.

Climate mitigation
We constantly strive towards being carbon negative by adapting our tools, machinery and transport to electrics. Supplying to local customers and applying carbon sequestration practises with biochar, humus production and use of renewable energy.

With your contribution, we are able to share our regenerative way of living and continue to facilitate positive change.

From the PermaDynamics team,
Klaus, Ness, Josh, Frida and Mathilde.
