Who am I?

Hi! My name is Pedro. I'm from Portugal and I'm the creator of the weekly YouTube show "It's a Pixel THING".

Why am I here?

I grew up with the evolution of home computers, back in the 80s, and this passion of mine began with the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K and, later, with the 128K+2A and the Commodore Amiga.

Gaming and programming were my thing in those days. The first game that I've ever played on a home computer was Deathchase, on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K (the one with rubber keys).
And what about the arcades? Ahhhhh, the arcades! Good old days!

(my tribute to Arcade Classics in which I point out my 26 favorite games)

In Portugal, the arcade saloons received the machines a bit late. But that was a good thing, because it was a great source for novelties that were already out for home computers. I just needed to play a bit at the arcade cabinet and, if I liked the game, I would go to the nearest software vendor and purchase it for the ZX Spectrum or for the Amiga.

Piracy on these machines was a great deal at that time. In almost every corner there was someone selling forged copies of the latest and greatest hits. Back then it was hard to find original software. Really hard!

This is just a small appetizer from my big "archive" that I want to share with you all, covering retro systems like, for instance, the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amiga, MS-DOS, Sega Master System and Mega Drive / Genesis, NES and SNES, etc, going all the way to more recent stuff throughout the 90s and 2000s!

What are my other hobbies besides retrogaming?

I love mountain biking:

and movies!

Feel free to virtually visit my "man cave" to know more details about myself... and stuff!

Where am I going with this?

Even working full time I've been able to release a new video every single week since I began this journey, back in 2014. With your help, with a few dollars, I can start dreaming on making a living out of YouTube videos and be even more professional with something that I really love to do!

These productions I make have a documentary style of approach mixed with personal feelings that I always transform into video format.

So, If you believe in this project of mine and if you love retrogaming (and all that surrounds it), support the show!

Here's a glimpse of how a regular episode of It's a Pixel THING is made:

Here's a few more examples of the AWESOME stuff I make every week:
