I've built my academic career around the study and teaching of superheroes as mythology and comics as literature. Both a geek and a scholar, I'm obsessed with heroes and their stories. The Superfriends, Masters of the Universe, and Spidey and his Amazing Friends shaped my formative years. I learned to read by devouring Batman comics, and focused my academic career on the hero's journey in popular mythology. Today I still watch cartoons and read comics, but I also teach them in the college classroom through writing and literature. My Youtube channel is an extension of my classes. I bring my passion for these characters to videos that expound upon their importance to our culture and psychology.

Editing Service: Proofreading
$30 or more per month
Up to 13 Manuscript Pages: Proofreading should be the final step in the process or your book, comic, etc. You should have already obtained feedback from a developmental editor(s), then a copy editor(s), and have the manuscript formatted for publication on whatever platform you will use (a PDF, mobi file, etc.).
Editing Service: Copy Editing
$40 or more per month
Up to 10 Manuscript Pages: Copy-editing is the second step after developmental editing. Copy-editing is what most people think of as "proofreading," but it is the first pass at grammar, consistency, eliminating typos and errors and so on. Copy-editing is solely about the prose, not the story, characters, or plot.
Editing Service: Developmental Editing
$55 or more per month
Up to 10 Manuscript Pages: Developmental editing is the first step in feedback on your writing. As your developmental editor, I can help you with story and character development, pacing and tension, scene and plot development, and anything on the macro level. Developmental editing does not include copy editing, but you can seek this feedback at any stage of your manuscript, whether you are just envisioning your story idea, you're stuck in the middle, or you want first feedback on a completed story in your revision process.
