$14
per issue interviewing comic creators, musicians, & other folks.
Like a lot of artists, I'm torn between different projects that I work on (like comics & music).  My main goal with Patreon is to let you help me figure out where my time & energy is most properly spent.  To figure out which artistic endeavors deserve more hours of my life dedicated to working on them & which ones deserve more of a hobby status.   In this particular case it's about my interview webzine QRD.

QRD - an in depth interview webzine
Back in 1994 I started QRD to ask questions I personally wanted to see answered by some of my favorite bands.  20 years later I'm still asking questions & still curious about how individual artists minds & processes work.  I know I'm well past 500 interviews with musicians, cartoonists, & various other artistic folks which is pretty incredible.  I love that I give these people an opportunity to think about & talk about their work in a way that might not happen otherwise in front of the 10,000 visitors QRD gets each month.  I really want to be able to dedicate more time & energy to it so I can get a new issue out around once a month instead of just whenever spare time permits.  The average issue takes about 40 hours to work up & it would be great to have enough funds to occasionally take days off from my other jobs to dedicate to QRD instead of working in bits & pieces for several weeks to get an issue together.

The Perks
I really think things are great with QRD & I don't want to change things too much.  With Patreon you can donate as little or as much as you want each time an issue comes out.  You can have your name appear as a supporter on every page of the site, you can get the ebooks collecting our interviews, &  you can even help me decide who to interview & what questions to ask.

I'm not trying to change QRD, just make it more regular.  6 times a year seems like a nice place to start.
