Hello from Ragh Guitar, Scotland!

The journey so far...
Ragh Guitar Ltd started roughly 10 years ago from a small shed in a garden and grew into a successful Custom Guitar building business in Stewarton, Scotland. We now inhabit an 800 sq feet  workshop, where everything from the first cuts, to final finishing is done in house. It's been a whirlwind...so what brings us to Patreon?

Firstly, our Youtube channel was launched 2 years ago as a bit of an experiment, but it's now achieved over 50,000 views and is edging ever closer to the target of 1000 subscribers. The actual videos will always be free (as they should be on a free platform), but it takes time to film, produce and edit and we really want to outsource the editing to polish it up and help create time for even more content. The advantage of becoming a Patron?

-Any video related questions answered
-Video requests for anything you want to see
-Downloadable content

Secondly, It's always been a dream of mine to write a book based on guitar building techniques, and Patreon will support that via downloadable, pictured guides, which eventually will become a fully published book. The frequency of downloads will increase with support, and all will be easy to follow, and cover all sorts from technical aspects of building to guitar setups.

I hope you'll join me with my ambitious project, i can't do it without you

Cheers

Grant

I've decided to simplify Patreon a little . Things have gone from strength to strength at Ragh Guitar since we started the Patreon page. Our Youtube channel has received over 50,000 views since it started with the help of Patreon. So i've had a look at the main things people were asking of us-

- more videos

- a mix of shorter and longer videos

- guitar building advice

All go hand in hand, and with you're support, no matter how small, we'll be tending to all 3.

The reason support is so important is that-

-    we are a small business creating time consuming products.

-    producing and editing videos is fun, but eats into our hectic daily schedule ( BUT I love doing them!)

-    I gladly spend a lot of time replying to comments, emails and dm's with video specific questions which unfortunately requires some "financial cover"

Youtube have recently changed monetization rules , meaning whatever income the videos generated has been halted, and as such have decided to move all question requests, build info and general chit chat  to Patreons only. Something i never wanted to do, but feel it's fair having a pretty much unlimited "Guitargony Aunt" on hand as long as you're a Patron, for a few quid a month.

Another benefit coming very soon, is downloadable guitar building guides with pictures, you can request something specific too. Hoping it'll become a book one day but we'll see!

Pretty much anything is covered, we make everything by hand and have an extensive knowledge of traditional construction methods, finish application and anything else you can fling my way

Goals
3 of 100 patrons
First goal for Patreon is to hit 100 supporters

The main aim here is to allow outsourcing of video editing, meaning far more professional editing, and more time to make videos, and thus more videos!

All Patrons will have the option to request videos too, to make things more specific and build our own community
