Hey all and Welcome! My name is Jennifer (or Jenni)  and I am a professional costume designer and wardrobe stylist. Before I get into detail about what I'm doing now, I'd like to tell you a little about me. I am a 48 year old wife and mom as of 2010 - instant mom to my husband's three year old (at the time) and new mom to a baby girl in 2013. I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and was always pushed academically. I have two degrees: BA Elementary Education and an MA in Christian Education/Youth Ministry which I used in three previous careers that still feed the foundation of my creative life. In 2003, after only one year of being a self taught seamstress and recreational costumer (aka cosplay), I sold my house, moved back in with my parents and pursued a Fashion Design degree full time at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. After crunching the three year program into seven quarters, I graduated With Honors in December 2004. In Spring 2005 I landed my first costume designer role (an all in one position) on a local Indie film. By 2008 I was in Atlanta (Hollywood of the South) working on Union films as a costumer, seamstress and set costumer - all rungs on the ladder on the way up to lead designer.   I was on my way up that ladder when we got the news about Baby Girl. I thought I'd go back to full time film work after 6 months, but here it is five years later and I'm very happy staying home with the kids. Of course my passion for sewing, costuming and sharing that with others has never gone away. I'm now finding new ways to realize my creativity and vocation every day while being at home raising my two treasures.

l've lent my visual creativity to music videos, dramatic short films, commercials, feature films both union and indie, and theatre productions, as well as recreational costuming with a very special and unique group of friends. Now I aim to teach people how to make their own costume and clothing creations with tutorials and videos that break the process down so anyone can do it.

With your help, I can continue expand my creative work to focus on it full time while being at home. My goal is generate a full time income across all of my businesses, but also provide unique insights into my thought process, problem solving and behind the scenes views of costume building, eventually expanding into offering e-courses online right here - special exclusive access and views into what it really takes to design and build costumes and why proper technical sewing skills will help you get the best result!

"Why Patreon?" This platform lets me develop my tutorials and e-courses at a much more affordable cost with low tech effort than on a personal website.

YOUR SUPPORT will allow me to focus on showing more of my process, create tutorials, and even discuss it with you and answer your questions directly. With enough support, I will be able to return to the convention circuit and costume competitions, as well as take additional courses to expand my skill set into areas such as embroidery, beadwork, more advanced draping pattern making and other enriching educational events.  All the things I learn I will apply to future projects share here in all their glorious detail.

All this in addition to some pretty cool discounts and special deals you can use in my Etsy shop that will only be available to my patrons.

On a more personal level, your support will allow me to do the creative things I love while managing my schedule and work to account for my invisible illness: autoimmune arthritis. My health is of utmost importance and reducing stress is key. The gift of being able to do the things I love while generating an income sharing my knowledge is very precious!

"How often will I be charged?"
I have it set to a monthly patronage charge. This means that you will get charged once per month. I will do my best to post as much as possible throughout the month. I will try to post at very least once per week, but I would ideally like to post multiple times per week.
